  1. Water/Fire/Flame Blaster.

Water/ has Water Burst and Geyser. Whirlpool can take slow enhancement to stop runners (unlike Rain of Fire). Steam Spray is skippable, but has a pretty wide cone that doesn't need much repositioning.

/fire has Combustion, Fire Sword Circle, Cauterizing Aura, Consume, Burn, and Hot Feet

//flame has Bonfire. Put Sudden Acceleration Knockback to Knockdown in it.

Would have liked the exploding tanks in Pathogen's mission to do more splash damage. I thought they were there to soften up the baddies and purposely lured them into their range and blew them up but they barely made a dent. So, what could have been a fun tactical challenge using the environment & positioning for strategy instead became a standard head-on blitz.

I don't think that's their purpose. They give you a short duration buff to counter the Wasting Disease if you're nearby when they explode.

    Does that work on Purples?

No. Purples have a minimum level to slot of 50. Attuning doesn't change this and makes it so you can't boost them anymore. Base stats also decrease on a sliding scale for attuned pieces as you go down in level from exemplaring. Non-attuned just hit flat enhancement ceiling around levels 30, 20, 15, etc. Attuning Purples is bad.

PvP's exist all the way down to level 10, so you can slot attuned versions as low as level 7.

I'll occasionally burn a catalyst on some 30-49 PvP pieces and convert them for use. They're nice to have for leveling, and anything in that level range would have just been sold on the AH anyway.

  4. Try Street Justice/Bio Armor Stalker. Scrapper is not bad either, but stalker's are way better with StJ.

Plus the Crow's 'boo!' moments from the films fit the stalker theme well enough (in my mind anyway). Grab the new combat teleport once i27 goes live for the full "can't run from me b****!" flavor.

  5. Echoing Nuke Leah's thoughts on the attacks mostly. Fences I found a bit counter productive with no taunt aura to get mobs to clump though.

Darkest Night does its best work with NW Smoke 'nades. -perception on the whole spawn, anchor to a mob on the edge to peel half the pack away. Engangement control. Bit of an art to pulling it off without triggering them all. But the stacked -tohit from both is lovely, if a bit wasted with softcap defense + perma-ML. Mid-level teams will love you though.

Pets add some really good dps, but Widows just have to work harder to keep them alive. Soldier's higher base stats on TT: Maneuvers (plus pool maneuvers stacking) means you just have to 'exist' to make them fairly sturdy.

As a Widow, you need to time your buffs/debuffs and prioritize your targets to keep them alive. I've had mine live their full 4 minute duration on /x8 content, but always when I can control  the engagement. If you start getting multiple spawns to aggro, or leave a boss up long enough, and the pets tend to go down fast. Keep the engagements tight, and be in range for your auras to buff them, and they can really help chew through baddies.

  6. Some more granular controls of what buffs are displayed on the team window would be welcome. Those big long bars that show every single toggle running, every inspiration (especially on level up), and everyone else's buffs is major clutter. When playing buffer-support characters, I really only want to see my own buffs so I can know easily when it's time to reapply.

M - Non-toggle mez protection, psi resists. Plus scaling resists that increase as your hps drop.

Also your largest chunk of positional defense (7.5%) outside of Mind Link. TT:Manuvers being 5% for comparison.

    Leveling suggestions

Keep toggles to the bare minimum until you get accolades, stamina, and health piece that help recovery

Endurance issues are a normal pain of leveling. Plan for it, slot endurance and endurance reducers.

You are very squishy in the beginning, low hp and low defense, this lasts until better slotting and mind link is up most of the time.

Once, you have endurance and defense slotted well. You can ex-emp down very well till level 15, then you lose your stealth.

The celerity stealth piece is very useful as your normal stealth will not allow you to stand next to mobs. Buy it early if you can.

I would suggest Combat Training: Offensive with 2-3 slots early. Even at DO levels this should give enough global acc to skip yellows in attacks entirely and just slot end redux. Good until the 30s then can be respecced out of for the later game.

Patron Pools - Generally not interesting, unless you like pets or PvP

Leviathan Mastery - Long cast, expensive AOEs

Mace Mastery - Shatter armor and Web envelope for PvP.

Mu Mastery - Decent AOE immobilize and damage

Soul Mastery - Gloom is a very good ranged negative energy attack.

Dark Obliteration has performed well for me in place of scream or tornado. Better cast time, good damage, good damage type, good debuff, lots of proc potential. Exemping is its only real issue.

Darkest Night can help 'fill the void' as it were if you don't/can't perma-Mind Link. Main drawback is its high end cost.

Soul has a lot of good options beyond Gloom.

  8. Clarion seems a little wasteful on controller. Least 'involved' AT in the game next to MM. Plenty of recovery tools if you have to dig yourself back out of a hairy fight.

Without knowing your endurance situation, Ageless Radial with it's +debuff res is often overlooked. More +recharge towards Perma-PA. Plugs a lot of melee teammates armor's holes, and it gives you a second refill option if Transference whiffs.

Otherwise adding Barrier + Core Lore pets alongside your already godly Phantasm and PA? Thing of beauty.

  9. I'd make some changes to exemplaring.

    First, incarnates:

    1. Alpha slot available at all levels. (including level shift)

    2. Hybrid and Judgement swap positions. Then Hybrid and Interface available in 35+ content.

    3. Lore, Destiny, and Judgement only available in incarnate content (iTrials, DA, or any other "iZones" that might get made in the future).

I like the feel of being a little bit overpowered that Alpha's bring with the level shift and stat boosts, and the low key effectiveness of hybrid and interface, but the others are just too good at trivializing content.

Plus I would love to see Hami not be a mechanical snooze fest. Everlasting crew, I love you guys. But "Porttowallporttorockkillmitosbringhamito75killbloomSUMMONLOREPETSSETTOAGGRESSIVEburnthegoo!" done with 2 raids in 15 minutes... it's soulless.

    Second, Epic/Patron pools:

Have them ignore the 5 level rule when exemplaring.

Most epic powers are just bad. Deliberately so, and hardly game breaking (with maybe a few exceptions *cough*scorpshield*cough). But many of them are pretty neat from a flavor perspective(EYELAZERS!), and others offer some fun build opportunities you wouldn't normally get. And on that 'flavor' thing, I've always interpreted the 'rule of 5' as you holding back your more devastating abilities so as not to seriously hurt someone weaker than you (or because unleashing your full power against puny insects is insulting). All the pools are labeled "Mastery", meaning you should have the skill to control them to a degree that you wouldn't inadvertently kill some weak little gangbanger.

SR is the only tank primary I’m aware of that doesn’t seem to have a taunt aura.

It's on Evasion (AoE toggle). Its main issue is it's only 'taunt' with no other effects like damage or debuffs. That's why you need to be more active with your secondary to hold aggro than other sets do.

  11. Try /invuln. Invincibility being turned into a flat %def instead of the scaling buff is pretty absurd. Can hit pretty much all the typed def caps easy. No effort S/L resist cap, and plenty of ways to bring all other resists to respectable levels including Psi. Low endurance footprint on the base toggles, so pool picks are easier to run. Dull Pain ('nuff said). Pair it with something slow. I'm partial to Spines.

  12. With a very basic test (standing around at aggro cap) I saw it fire 4 times in 1 minute with full target saturation.

Tank should be able to pull off a single end/def/tohit Hami-O, Gauss proc, and LoTG-gRecharge. Saves some slots. Plenty of other places to jam Reactive Defense.

6 slots for 1.25% type defense. Worth agonizing over? Only if it's what's keeping you from the soft cap. Plus if you need more than the unenhanced tohit values from Tactics to land attacks you've got other problems.
