VV Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Okay, thought I would start something new! Never played around with either Bio Armor or Psi Melee. Honestly, I don't even remember them from the Retail days. But, they seem fun and they fit perfectly for one of my regular concepts. A mutated, demon-fused, cyborg-implanted Wombat. She has gained both impressive physical and mental powers. So, my question to start with, are there any particularly skippable powers in either set. I know, I know, many powers fall under the "it depends" category, but I mean, are there any powers that are just so lame and underperforming that is does not depend. Powers you should ALWAYS skip no matter what. Any of those?

So, I definitely want to take all the armors. I was thinking about taking Telekinetic Blow just for the fun of a big punch, and to make room, leave out Psi Blade because it seems like kind of a wimpy little attack. Do you think that would be okay? Edited September 23, 2019 by VV
Luigrein Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 From my limited experience and looking over the set a bit: Bio kind of wants you to take everything. I’m sure you could trim a power if you really wanted to (ablative carapace maybe?) but I wouldn’t. Psy doesn’t have any bad powers that I’ve tried yet (haven’t done them all) but I can see concentration (if you’re like me and forget to hit it,) taunt (let gauntlet handle it,) and boggle (CC? No. Damage,) being skipped depending on your playstyle. I don’t think any of those powers are bad, but if they don’t fit how you play then probably skippable. High recharge builds may be able to skip an attack as well but I’m not going to even try mathing that out.

Do you think that would be okay? ... I'm... not sure how to answer that. My Psi/Bio is a brute, and I took [Telekinetic Blow] there. My x/Psi Tank is a Shield/Psi, and I didn't take [Telekinetic] blow there... and I'm not entirely sure WHY I made that change. I think it was because [Psi Blade] has a recharge debuff and [Telekinetic Blow] does not... and the character was an update on a concept I ran as a Shield/Ice so I think I just made sure I used every slow-recharge debuff. So, sure, performance wise [Telekinetic Blow] works better.
