Psyonico
Hi, I usually run a 3 monitor set up (laptop screen + 2 monitors). One of the monitors died, now I am getting the following message when I try to load the game Unfortunately, the City of Heroes client encountered an unexpected error and must close. The error occurred in VCRUNTIME140.dll at relative address 0xc7c9. Any ideas? Thanks What this team needs is more Defenders
Psyonico
I should add that I tried reinstalling and that did not fix this. What this team needs is more Defenders
Psyonico
I found a solution in Silk's guide, I deleted the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cryptic\COH registry file and that cleared it up 2 What this team needs is more Defenders
Hardship
It looks like you found a fix pretty quickly. Though I don't have this problem at the moment, I hate when I find the a message and there is not fix listed, or even worse, a "nevermind I fixed it" without saying what was done to fix it. Thank you for coming back and posting the answer here. Internet points for you!!

This saved my butt. Apparently if you have multiple displays with City of Heroes on a secondary display and then you unplug/disable that display, City of Heroes is broken. Deleting the registry fixed it.
