Force Field/Electrical Blast

Would you be willing to consider a switch to Electric Control/Force Field Controller? Electric Blast leaves much to be desired as a set. Electric Control and Force Field however complement each other nicely. Proc out Jolting Chain for damage. The pets can be shielded and help you deal damage, while your big bubble prevents your aura from detoggling due to mezz.

Nah, I'd like to keep Bubble Lord as he was in the original game. The idea is intriguing, though.

Ok, here you go. Not a lot of proc opportunities here. There are however lots and lots of recharge possibilities, so I went that route. Soul drain is perma, 70% s/l res, softcapped M/R def, and you have repulsion field that will knockdown instead of knocking back while also sometimes providing a 100% recharge proc. Just make sure to only use repulsion field with T3-4 Ageless destiny as you have no way to mitigate the end drain.

Phew! I was worried the record would show the 21% defense to all that this was adding to a team with two toggles or the end and recovery debuffs on all the blast powers to stop mobs attacking a team. Glad we avoided that, for the record.

Taboo is probably referring to the lack of Insulation Shield and underslotted Deflection Shield.

 

I admit the build hits some impressive numbers, although to be honest, seeing what it gives up to get there, I feel like the player would have been happier rolling Traps, which has a higher base Defense in in its big bubble.

So I did my best to make my own FF/Elec Defender build of my own. I'm no expert on Electric Blast so take this  with a grain of salt.

 

Its capped to basically everything, keeps the team shields, adds a pet, and Power Boost to make elec drains and shields more substantial.

 

This build also adds Aid Self, which IMO a Force Fielder should always take. Just toggle on PFF, cast it, untoggle. 

 

I used Agility Core Paragon as the Alpha slot.

If you want to continue in the same vein as my build and still go musculature and have perma soul drain with the shields, aid self and PFF, this is another option with more recharge. It just has less recharge than the other build, overall this is probably better than my first build as you almost always really need a way to heal yourself.
