Help with crabber damage please

Neiska

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am looking for some help and advice on my Crabber's damage. I love her and the At itself, but she struggles with her damage. ATM she only has her t1 cardiac incarnate, was sort of saving stuff until i figured out what the problem was.

But here is her build, and yes I have all the IOs listed here -

My rotation begins with Venom Grenade - Suppression - Artic Breath - Bile spray. I try to stack up -res debuffs to make her big attack, bile spray, hit as hard as it can. She seems to have decent AOE, but her single target is abysmal. For single target i use the res debuff stacking and use Channelgun. I was in a fire farm with a friend last night, and I had to chase down an elite boss who ran off. It took me longer to kill that single elite boss than it took them (fire farmer) to kill 2 more entire groups.

I read people saying that Bile spray was supergood for Crabbers, but either im doing it wrong or Im just not seeing it. Its just a bid depressing to throw everything i have at stuff to see tics of 30 damage while they are doing 300+. So it just feels like im not contributing all that much. (not sure if thats the case or not, just feels that way.)

Anyway, some imput or advice on how to get my damage a bit higher would be nice. Like i said, still working on my incarnates, and all she has atm is Teir 1 Cardiac. Everything else is open, and the cardiac is there mostly for the END management. (lotta toggles).

Thanks bunches.

Here's mine.  It's a monster.  I use [Shatter Armor] for single target damage and more -res.  It's super high recharge for all perma pets and I and my pets are softcapped by alternating Support and Barrier.

thats an interesting build flea, do like how you keep the caps by juggling barrier and support. i didnt think of that, gives wiggle room in the build for other stuff. No idea how effective shatter armor is, i never used it, but looks to be good vs bosses etc.

One question though - how is your END management? suprised you dont have to use ageless to keep it up, but on paper yours looks pretty END efficent.

I don't have my build on hand cause I'm at work, but my AoE rotation doesn't look like that. I'm playing more of a Crabbermind type of build and I use Mu Mastery. My AoE rotation looks like this:
Venom Grenade > Frag Grenade > Suppression
With perma hasten I can just cycle those powers

For Single Target rotation I use :
Venom Grenade > Mu Lightning > Longfang > Mu Lightning
Once again, with perma hasten I can just cycle those 3 powers with no downtime. I used to use Channel Gun instead of Mu Lightning, but I realized last night when actually looking at the floating numbers over the mobs that Mu Lightning deals a LOT more damage than Channel Gun. I will keep looking how this goes against more enemy types to see if Mu Lightning is generally better or not and if so I will probably need to switch up my enhancements between the two so that Mu Lightning has the procs and Channel Gun is the mule

Disclaimer:
This is just how I figured what a good rotation looks like, no science has been used to determine if this is optimal or not

How is your damage may i ask?

I have never done a DPS pylon test for this guy (and I don't intend to SoA is IMO a team character), but I have never had the impression that I wasn't doing enough damage. Of course it's not Blaster level damage but combined with the 6 pets it's respectable. I also use Leadership Assault in addition to the TT Assault which helps with an extra 15% damage.
For ST damage from what I remember off the top of my head, after Venom Grenade, Longfang will do about 90-100dmg per tick + procs and Mu Lightning will hit for 250-300 (I'm still testing this power, I have just started incorporating it in my rotation so I can't say if this dmg will be on all targets but in the s/l farm map I was in it did significantly more damage than Channel Gun)

would you mind sharing your build?

Í'll see to posting it here in 4 or 5 hours. It's based on a build I found around here on the forums that I modified for my needs. I tried finding it to share but I can't remember for the life of me in which thread I found it.

It's actually pretty good.  The pets are the biggest endurance hogs, but those are only summoned every 4 minutes.  A few seconds after summoning I'm back at full.  Of course sappers or a bunch of Mu's can be a problem.  But that's true for a lot of things.

I can always slow down my attacks a bit and let the spiders pick up the slack while the endurance returns.

alright. might have to give it a try. only two changes id want for my personal preferance is change combat jump and vengance to hover and fly. (cant stand the squat-shooting emotes from crabber! plus travel powers are nice)

P.S. - well poo. just checked, and vengance needed to carry a LotG cooldown. Guess its just combat jump to hover then.

Nothing in the game can quite prepare you for a crab with beast run . . .

P.S.  I just tried a pylon . . . 1:36.66 T4 Barrier Core, Agility Core, Reactive Radial, Support Core, did not use Lore.

Switched to Musculature Core T4 and Assault Partial Core (T3), still no lore - 1:04.33

Same as above but adding Lore T4 Robotic Drones is  . . . 43.76

Beast Run Crabs are the best.  Who needs a travel power with all the free options we get these days?  Also, goes great with a "totally not Iron-Spider Spider-man" costume look.

Alternatively, you can drop Assault and Vengeance and grab Stealth and Fly or CJ and Fly if you want the extra defense power for LotG.

Generally, you can also check the below thread which has my OG build that Seigmorag used as a template.  He dropped Omega Maneuver and Stealth for double assaults, which is absolutely a valid choice.  Personally, I'm not a huge fan of double assault just because I usually find myself near the damage cap without them due to team buffs when teaming or via inspiration combine+use binds when running solo.

To answer your specific single target damage issues, my general suggestion is that you have too many AoEs and not enough focus on single target damage.  4 AoEs is overkill and your only single target attack is Channelgun.  I've expressed my general 'meh' attitude towards Leviathan elsewhere in this subforum, and I think its AoE is overkill when you already have Suppression, VG and Frag to cycle.  The other three PPPs give you great single target options (Mu Lightning, Gloom or Shatter Armor) whereas Spirit Shark is a bit trash due to its animation time.  Also, the 6th pet can help a lot for when you have that last boss hanging around.
