Where is our bane ?

So, I tried to make the best mace only bane I could on the beta server.

 

Def, resists, damage, very expensive. I'll post the build in a separate thread. There is always room for improvement.

 

I cannot solo 4x8 carnies or arachnos, period. Also, struggled against 3x8 arachnos.

 

Comparing to my Blood Widow, it's all about the PBAOE.

 

My bane cannot delete the minions and lts quickly enough. She loses too much time lining up for crowd control.

 

My widow just aim->wail->spin or tornado. Disruptor Blast isn't bad for CC and damge, but the recharge is to long.

 

Options would be to load up Mace Beam Blast and use that to keep mobs down.

 

If I can get the mobs grouped up nicely, the bane does really deals out damage.

Meanwhile, i did a nightwidow build on the test server. It just solos everything. It's at 47-78% defense for EVERYTHING with perma Mind Link xD

Yeah, therein lies the problem.  Widows do the VEAT stealth melee thing better than Banes.  Crabs do the VEAT pet AoE steamroller better than Banes.  Forts do the VEAT ranged DPS/CC role WAAAY better than Banes.  Crabs do VEAT psuedo-tanking better than Banes.

 

One of the other 3 VEAT branches beats Banes in basically everything.  So in the end, Banes just bring...style?

That thread was a dumpster fire.  People claiming that Crabs do Defender level damage should have their posting privileges revoked.

My bane is my second spec. I made it a crab and then decided to drop a second about a billion on the most expensive single target bane build. Yeah, it does less overall damage than the crab by alot, but goddamn if it doesn't chew down single targets faster than the crab could ever dream of. 

 

I set up my macros and have it set up so I can lock my trays and switch. Costs me recharges. If I'm below 45 that means it costs me basically nothing to switch back and forth, at 45 and up content I have to think about losing lore pet cooldowns and that's about it. Means I almost never get to use TT or ATT on teh character lol, but ehh I'll take that loss.
