Kinetic Melee - please help me understand Power Siphon

Hi guys,

 

My new-ish Kin/Elec brute is coming along nicely, but I am not quite seeing the usefulness of Power Siphon yet. I mean, I use PS whenever it is up at the start of a fight, but it doesn't seem like the fights where I use PS are significantly easier than the fights where I don't.

My forum searches indicate that most people consider this an important power to have, so... is there a trick to making the best use of PS, or am I doing it right but simply not noticing all the good things it is doing for my performance? Or to put it another way: If I myself consider Power Siphon a meh power, but many other, better-than-me players consider it a good power, then most likely the majority are right :)

It is similar to Follow Up in that you will get the buff to stack so one use of it might not seem much, but as longer the fight goes on you should be seeing better numbers for damage on top of what Fury is adding, which also might be why it doesn't feel so powerful by itself.

It should be noted that it also lowers the damage enemies do, essentially providing extra resistance
