Hurl or Laser Beam Eyes for my SS/Inv Brute

Hey all.  I want/need one ranged power in my Brute to drop the Apocalypse set into, but I'm iffy on my two choices.  Hurl has an annoyingly slow animation but hits hard and can knock flyers out of the air.  Laser Beam Eyes is just a generic ranged attack, but a far faster one.

 

I'm interested in any opinions you might have!

Hurl is probably a better power... but man, throwing laser beams from your eyes, that's another level of awesomeness.

I've found that Hurl's ability to drop fliers is situational.  You just don't find them that often.

I’d honestly here go with character concept/rule of cool over ‘whatever kicks maximum butt’ - beither will be all that significant, so go with what fits how you see the character - are they more Kal El or Bruce Banner?

I've found that Hurl's ability to drop fliers is situational.  You just don't find them that often.

Not to mention one of the most common ones (Longbow Eagles) are immune to -fly anyway (I'd assume the same is probably the case for Rikti Drones, which are the other main source of flying enemies that I can think of).
