Nrg/Nrg Blapper Advice def vs res

Hey all,

 

Working on improving my first toon I did on live. The build is below.

 

I think I overdid the defense at the expense of resistance. This is intended to be a blapper when needed, solo-friendly.

 

The defense goes above the numbers below as Power Boost is active, which can be 100% of the time with the recharge.

 

Any thoughts on improving it? I don't need to min/max, just something fun for solo and team.

The build for my NRG/NRG main is pretty similar- I have no trouble running solo or in groups, and can output some pretty ridonkidonk damage. 
The biggest issues I've found is mez, it can be pretty easy to get held and locked into only using your first two powers, in a team that isn't too much of an issue though.
I'm by no means an expert, so take it with a grain of salt:

Why not both! I haven’t made it yet on live, but the build I made in Mids has Unleash Potential from the power pools and Force of Nature from the Force epic! Unleash Potential buffed by Power Boost and the +special Clarion gives you a ridiculous amount of defense, 35%ish to ALL if I remember correctly. Force of Nature essentially caps your resistance to all damage except Psi. With a decent amount of Force Feedback +recharge procs going off from your Energy primary, you can have something like a 60-75% uptime with those two powers. Which means that 60-75% of the time you have soft-cap defenses to all damage and capped resistance to most damage. I’m really excited to make it as I’ve never gotten an Energy Blast character past level 8 or something.
