I just hit 50 on my earth/time controller.  I want to respec him but I don't want to waster it.  Below is the abilities and enhancements I intend to use.  He isn't quite melee defense capped, but hopefully that won't come up too much.  Any thoughts/suggestions would be helpful.

@Force Redux I wouldn't skip Volcanic Gasses like the build in the OP showcases. VG is a persistent Targeted AoE pulsing Hold power. Quicksand isn't a make or break power but can be handy to stack with movement slows from your secondary depending on what picks you made. QS also applies a -DEF debuff which is another reason players pick it up.

Thanks Taco! I'm 42 right now, and definitely loving VG. Have it slotted with 4 basilisk, the Lockdown hold proc, and ghost widow's psi proc. With my global recharge it's up quite often.

As a controller between time and Earth I can lock down even large spawns very safely.

I personally love QS on my Earth controllers.  Especially when exemping to low(er) levels.  Both the -defense and the slow can be a big help to teams with still leveling characters.  I find the slow helps those teams in particular withdraw/break contact if starting to get overwhelmed by ambushes or adds etc..  I also grew fond of putting a range enhancement in the base slot (and treat it as a one slot wonder).  It's amazing how often that adds just enough to the base range to let me place the patch under a mob from around the corner vs having to stick my head out to do so.
