Call me cheesy, but I want a ninja. I'm thinking energy aura for the secondary because I'll get an end discount, and I can slot LOTG's for +rech (I know NB isn't a high end user anyway, so some extra +end added with +rech should keep me going at a fast clip.

 

I'm not so great with builds, so if anyone has a high end build to share, I'd appreciate it.

So I'm not looking to tell you what character you should play, but if you want to play a Ninja, I'd humbly recommend that you also look at a Katana/Ninjutsu scrapper. Two reasons: number one, on Stalker, Katana/Ninja Blade loses its best AoE in The Lotus Drops. Without it, the set has very little, and you will feel that unless you reach to Epic pools. Number two, Ninjutsu on scrappers is a really fun and good set that gives you stealth, from-hide crits, a lot of movement speed, and feels very Ninja-like. It's at least something to consider!

With this, you have defenses that are flirting with incarnate softcap (and Energy Drain will often make up the difference), as well as reasonable resists and a boatload of recharge. Hasten is perma with +5 boosters, it's a second or two short without. I've dipped into Blaze mastery for Fireball to make up for the missing AoE, and dropping Divine Avalanche may be distasteful to some, but realistically it was that or Soaring Dragon, and for a typed def set DA is pretty limited in its use anyway. The passive endurance management is a little on the low side, but ED being up every 20 seconds will make up for that.

I’m going to recommend going with energy aura. It is top tier. Easy to get good recharge. Easy to softcap defenses. Good heal and endurance tools. You can easily pick up rune of protection to have really solid resists 50% of the time.
 

I personally don’t mind the lack of AoE on ninja blade. In fact, I like it’s single target focus as that is what I focus on when I play stalkers. If I wanted to focus on AoE I’d play a blaster.

 

This is the build I currently use on my ninja blade / energy aura stalker.  Note: totals include hasten (3 seconds short of perma without boosters) and rune of protection (50% uptime).
