Marine X Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Noticed several times this weekend in missions fighting Devouring Earth that sometimes when I used an attack with Knock down / Knock up that the Critter would never get back up off the ground. They would just stay there on the ground in Ragdoll mode, with sometimes Half or more of their health, as i continued to attack them. One time I actually stopped and stood there and they never got back up even though at half health. Very strange. It happened during multiple missions. This was during the Ginger Yates Story Arc on Warhorse level 38 Tank ( Main account @Marine X ) on Reunion playing Solo. " When it's too tough for everyone else, it's just right for me..." ( Unless it's Raining, or Cold, or Really Dirty or there are Sappers, Man I hate those Guys...) Marine X
srmalloy Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 I've noticed this with other mobs -- well, at least they don't get up before I finish defeating them, even if it takes several attacks. When it happens with human opponents, it looks to be tied into the ragdoll physics -- they land twisted up, and the server doesn't seem to be able to figure out how to get them 'unwound' and stand them up again. I've never given them more time than it took to finish them, so I don't know if the server would have eventually figured it out.
Ura Hero Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 This used to happen all the time on Live. Back before they "fixed" the ragdoll physics, the mobs would get knocked through walls all the time, At least now the mobs will only get hung in the walls or floor and you can still defeat them 99% of the time. No much that can be done about it AFAIK. It's part of how the maps and mobs are designed and interact with each other.
