Seeking advice on Fire Blaster end game attack chain

I just noticed that Fire Blast has 1.67 activation time. Hmm. My current chain against single targets is:

115dpa Fire Blast

387dpa Blaze

198dpa Blazing Bolt

 

and sometimes:

134dpa Char (only 3-slotted. could boost damage to about 147dpa)

 

But now I'm wondering whether Flares will perform better than Fire Blast due to its short 1sec activation, or whether I could/should emphasize Blaze more. Any thoughts?

I took flares over blast and like it but fire ball also has the 1 sec activation and might save you the respec.

I agree with Boogaloo and Nuke Leah. My fire/ice blaster has not-quite permanent Hasten. As it is, I can alternate Blaze and Blazing Bolt, mixing in Fireball and occasionally Flares as a filler. Single target damage with that rotation is excellent.

 

Depending on your secondary and playstyle, you could replace Fireball and/or Flares with blap powers for even more damage, but I've never felt the need.
