Ok so I started a dark/dark brute following a guide 

but withthe changes recently I was thinking of swapping things around to use it in group play better.  I would like to but taunt in there and switch over to teleportation to make use of fold space to create density and pack em in there tight for all my blaster corrupter and scrapper friends (other ATs as well)  Looking to tank Itrials with this eventually, how viable is this goal?

I doubt you will have that much time on iTrials to pack them because of the speed ppl move on them, maybe on some TFs. I personally use Darkest Night from Soul Mastery to herd but mainly when soloing or playing with certain friends that allow me herding, otherwise, nowadays is very complicated, especially at high lvls and even harder to do on iTrials.

Being chased by a wasp is the most complete sport practice!

been watching WS's do it a lot lately actually, they get it inherently I just need to work it in somehow without sacrificing too much performance

I have been soloing redside every story arc on a dark/dark.  I have also ran one fully incarnated.  (if you want to see this build in action I can show you in any AE +4/x8)  Excelsior, @Snarky.  Just ask.

 

I built for recharge more.  Although this is my incarnate old build.  I will be tweaking it for the one I am doing storylines on.  Same build goals, just going to tighten up the slack.

 

The concept behind a high recharge dark/dark is that it brings up Soul Drain, Dark Regeneration, and Dark Consumption amazingly fast.  Def > Res > Heal.  But Dark Regen is one of the best heals in the game.  Having it on a 6 second cycle is insanely powerful.

 

Also, Dark/Dark doesn't have the greatest AoE.  Wait.  Wait a minute!  Everything I just mentioned are AoE, right?  A high recharge Dark/Dark uses its buffs as a ghetto AoE chain!  That is why it farms well.  Not the fastest, but this beast can run incarnate trials and step into ANY farm and do well.

 

Basically, I looked at Dark/Dark and said "I want it all, and more of it please"  then i built for that.

 

The army of toggles actually does a tremendous amount of work.  Cloak of Fear and Oppressive gloom provide enough damage mitigation for another Dark Regen to pop up 99.9% time.  Cloak of Darkness will let you waltz past anything not on your to-do list, just stay 8-10 feet away.  Except f-ing rikti drones.

 

Anyways, here is the current incarnation.  My story toon has hit GV and will be a slightly different variation of this build, adding Touch of Fear and I am using Sorcery fly  for him because he is doing storylines.  semi stealth plus flight/teleport rocks for that.  CoT caves I mostly just port thru passageways to glowies.  On a Brute lol.

I notice that you have the force feedback proc set into kick. I do that all the time as well but when working with mids it can skew the look of the stats. Since the proc is only 10 seconds and it wont be active all the time, its probably best to calculate your recharge with the bubble on that power clicked off.

 

It is a huge boost making your 140 (not perma) second recharge for haste look like a 107 second recharge ( and thus perma ).

 

Its great to have in the build and it can give you a great boost but be careful of leaving it on while building as it can make you think you have way more recharge that you really do.

thanks, did not even realize that.  mostly i play by ear.  unless something like permadom or softcap def.  i just followed another posters advice and dropped energy mastery for soul mastery.  very nice AoE added

I'm curious as to whether you've updated this at all since its inception? I love what you have, so if there's a new iteration, I'm so there. 🙂

I did this recently with a Dark/Dark Tanker it is very good. I will post my build here however you will have to change it up a bit because of the ATOs but they are similar enough that it wouldn't be too hard to make them fit.

 

But seriously Dark Melee on tankers is amazing, the increased range and target cap you get on Shadow Maul and Touch of Fear is nothing to laugh at.

lol  good point. Although mine does uses Fly from Sorcery and I use the crap outta that blink when stealthing missions.
