The goal of this build was to get perma-Volcanic Gasses to go with Entangling Aura, which I did achieve. I'm still around 33% recharge bonus away from perma-Overgrowth though. Anyone want to take a stab at finding my missing recharge?

You're 7 seconds over Perma-Hasten and within 2 seconds of Perma-Overgrowth.  I think you've done a great job already!

 

My real concern (besides lack of defenses) is that while Volcanic Gasses/Entangling Aura/World of Confusion sounds pretty amazing, Aura and WoC only work on minions and lts, and Volcanic Gasses is only up once a minute (because you're not going to be taking a full minute to kill a spawn, right?).  This means your big trick is only going to be available on about 1/3rd of the spawns assuming a 20 sec TTK.  Near perma Overgrowth is going to reduce that TTK in big teams even more.

 

So in my opinion, stick with the huge recharge bonus for your maximum Overgrowth, but look for something else to hang your hat on besides the VG/EA combo

My opinion is usually if it's not taking at least 30 seconds to finish a spawn off you need to turn up the difficulty :D

 

Entangling Aura may only work on minions and LTs, but when stacked with Volcanic it's going to hold every damn thing. True that I can only cast Volcanic once every 60 seconds, but this toon is built for those sorts of tough fights that take close to 60 seconds. Boss filled spawns of +4 Freakshow and Redcaps and Arachnos and other nasties.

 

Similar to my Ice/Time in that she'll feel a bit like a fifth wheel if the team is steamrolling, but should be amazing in long, drawn out, truly difficult battles.

 

I do take your point about being pretty well "close enough" to my design goals though. I've already been leveling her a bit, she's at 18 now, so I'm not waiting on it or anything, just posted the build in the hopes someone might be able to find that last 33% that I couldn't quite dig up.

 

And I have Earthquake for situations where Volcanic is on cooldown and the team gets bum rushed by a bunch of bosses. Knockdown works on most bosses ;-)

Okay after doing my Grav/TA, I found your missing recharge.  I moved a bunch of slots around so it may definitely need tweaking to be more suitable.  The big bonuses I found were

 

- Downgrading Superior Will of the Controller to just regular WotC.  This allowed me to steal slots and make Brawl another 10% purple

 

and

 

- Splitting slots around to find more 5% bonuses

 

So, Perma Overgrowth, except that Hasten only has one slot now and a .4 second downtime.  You could fix that by stealing the recharge out of Indomitable Will, but I thought that half a second without hasten was worth having more uptime on your mez protection.

 

Also all your KB protection is gone.  I think I switched some of those slots to +resist IOs, as that became the secondary focus of what I was doing.  Anyway let me know what you think!

Great job!

 

I wouldn't have ever though to use Brawl to get the extra recharge. Shortsighted of me.

 

Informed by your build, I tried a slightly more conservative reshuffling of mine, and came up with one that reaches perma-overgrowth, but retains perma-hasten, gets to perma-Indomitable Will (Though admittedly both perma-Overgrowth and Indomitable are only perma without counting the activation time), and keeps at least mag 4 knockback protection.

 

I just wish I had two more slots, so I could put Force Feedback in Earthquake and the Lockdown Chance for +2 Mag Hold in either Volcanic or Entangling Aura.
