Yes, that’s where they found out it didn’t work as intended. Maybe if it was a circle of fire and acted like Entombed in Ice it would have worked better?

You mean like a circle that burned critters? You might be onto something there.

I seem to have this very very vague recollection of a fire wall type power now that I've been thinking about it, but I can't say 100% that it was from City of Heroes. Might have been another game.
