Fly power Costume Customization: Jet Packs

With the new changes to Fly, it is a serious sacrifice to use Prestige or Temporary Travel powers that are thematically aligned with your character. I know I and several of my SG-mates are agonizing over losing the benefits granted by the Issue 27 page 2 changes for the sole purpose of using the Temporary Powers available at the P2W vendor just because it matches out costumes or character theme. This includes options like the Goldbricker Rocket Pack or the Small Longbow Jetpack and all other temp powers of that nature. It's a shame that something that is a simple clone of an existing power isn't available as an optional visual customization in the costume creator for the original power.

Yeeeees, I NEED the Goldbricker JP as a Flight Cust. :)

If I remember rightly there's a Gadgetry pool in the game files somewhere which was a technology themed pool along similar lines to Sorcery for magic and Experimentation for science. That had a Jetpack power as its travel power, which I'd like to think they still plan to add along with the other origin pools eventually. One could suspect the reason it's not been added just yet is possibly due to them knowing people will want to customise the jetpack and needing to put in the work to make that doable.

You can take the flight power and use the backpack options. Personally I'd love it if the Goldbricker would be a backpack option.

FOR REAL THOUGH! Make it an option on the Fly power, or else just more jetpacks in the costume editor. This seems like a super simple fix. Technology and Science based characters need a better "reason" for the Fly power. The jetpacks in the P2W vendor as optional powers should have never been a thing. Or else it should be tied to a mission accolade and not available on P2W. It should have been simply a cosmetic option to Fly.

As @General Idiotsaid, theres plans to bring a real jetpack power to the game via the gadgetry power pool.

 

But, I can see them perhaps adding more back options in the future, since we already have quite a few jetpack costume pieces.
