Been looking to try this combo for a while. I've finally finished up a couple of alts I've been working on and want to give Dark/Dark a try. Want something that plays well in iTrials and such. Thanks in advance.

Ok So here is my build for Sandviper.

So I like to have fun with all the controls and fun stuff that dark does so I took pretty much everything and still came out pretty good. Also with the amount of -tohit you will be doing its like softcapping.

The whole build should run about 500 Mill give or take.

I took Touch of fear. Personally I love the power. It recharges quick it is AOE and can carry a variety of procs. If you are fighting a group it is a lot better than hitting shadow punch. Also I slotted it for knockdown so it adds some mitigation.

The way Cloak of fear is slotted with Gloom combined with Musculature, and Control Hybrid is incredibly fun. You are stunning and immobilizing everything and I mean everything. And doing psychic damage.

It actually isn't a huge end hog thanks to all the +end procs, but you always have conserve power if you want it and ageless to bail you out and to shore up your vulnerability to recharge debuff.

Here's mine. I loaded Touch of Fear with procs and find it really effective. I skipped CoF and OG entirely. About the only thing I've run up against that gives me trouble is stacked tohit debuffs (i.e., 3x Death Mages).

Hope you dont mind a late entry. Here's the D/D tank I'm working on now. I tried to love Cloak of Fear but the end cost is too high, and Oppressive Gloom isn't super effective with Dark Melee because of the low magnitude. Basically soul drain -> shadow maul -> touch of fear has the minions on the floor. I'd imagine offensive sets that have baked in disorient as a secondary effect (energy melee/ss) would synergize better with Oppressive Gloom

I don't chase defense, but I have Melee soft capped and S/L at 40 (so factor in the 5% base of Barrier and they are soft capped too). Defense is a nice to have for a Dark tanker imo, but the main and secondary mitigation comes from resistance and healing. With two +res ATO procs I'm capped to S/L/F/C/N/P, 82% to Energy and ~59% toxic.

Focused accuracy and Physical Perfection give -toHit resistance (86.5, which is huge given how floored toHit means we cant heal or kill) and some end relief with another slot for the +end proc. Not bad for one slot wonders. Also has 11 knockback protection and 75% -recharge resitance

Nice builds all around. Lots of good things to consider. This is the build I'm currently running (while finishing my T4s; only Alpha and Destiny are fully completed). Getting endurance/recovery under control with sufficient accuracy and recharge -- fun balance.

Edit - Has been tough and seat-of-the-pants fun so far. Mostly I solo so Taunt was skipped. However now that Incarnates are falling into place, Soul Transfer has seen little if any use so thinking of switching it out. Also, OG is vaguely useful to reduce minion attacks, but the wandering is starting to get on my nerves. Consider swapping THAT for Super Jump so there is a place to slot the slow resistance piece. Always a work in progress. First tank and was a joy to level from the get-go.

Just an anecdote - was running Lamda yesterday on my Dark/Dark. On a couple of occasions I didn't back up sufficiently to get out of the range of Nova Fist. Not only didn't I die, but one click of Dark Regeneration later I was back at full health.

I think if/when I do Dark/ again, I'm going to lean into disorient stacking and run Dark/Energy. OG plus almost every EM attack does disorient, should keep err'body stumbling around drunk. OG on D/D just wasn't useful enough, minions die within seconds and the mag is too low to effect even Lts.
