tequila has stopped working

This has worked fine since 2019 and suddenly today im getting

''Manifest download error for http://patch.savecoh.com/manifest.xml
The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.''

Any ideas? Ive changed nothing on this machine. win10 up to date patch wise.

Having read through the tequila blurb on here it suggests an internet problem. I also had a go at installing the launcher which also says it has no connection. Definitely got a net connection. turned off firewall very briefly, made no difference.

  • sixbanger changed the title to tequila has stopped working

If you have the capability, I strongly recommend ditching tequila for the homecoming client.   I put the link in, but I don't know why tequila and the coh client implodes.  Under homecoming client i don't have crashes or errors on start.

The switch to the Homecoming launcher is pretty much painless.

As long as you have enough hard drive space ... just make a new folder to launch it in and make a new desktop when you have it installed.

As I recall, everything transfers that needs to be transferred from the Tequila install into the Homecoming install automatically. It also just directly copies some of the files so that the install time isn't as long.

I can't remember if I had to patch the first time I launched the homecoming launcher or not.

It will look for patches automatically when it opens up. I can't remember if you have to click to download them or not (as it's kind of automatic for me).

If you have live and beta, it will look for patches for both.

I think maybe I had an issue with the Homecoming launcher once ... which only required closing the launcher and restarting it ...and I'm pretty sure that is while it was still in Beta.

So, basically, upgrading to the Homecoming launcher is "nothing to fear".

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

awesome.  Tequila was good and thank you whoever made it, but HC client is the future.   Between the 64 bit client and homecoming installer my old tired 2015 desktop no longer has the client self destruct monthly, weekly or <<name any coh file>> has run out of memory when I play.  I will get to new hardware/win 11 eventually but need to keep what i have going a little longer.
