Sable Phoenix Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 So I've never actually taken a Controller to 50 before in all the years I've played this game, and I was in the beta test. As a primarily solo player I just couldn't stand the slow, pitiful damage output for what seemed an exorbitant End cost. Things are a lot different for trolleys now, though, and I'm enjoying gameplay with my Poison Ivy knockoff Plant/Poison Chokecherry, especially now that I have Flytrap and Carrion Creepers. However I'm low-40s and, looking at set IOs, I realize I have no idea how to slot her for the best effects. Help? For pool powers, my travel set is Concealment. Of course I have Hasten, I want to get Carrion Creepers perma'd or even stacked if possible. My Ancillary is Psionic Mastery, for Indomitable Will and World of Confusion. I don't care about any of the other powers in that pool but if any of them would be a must have, throw it in there. For the rest of the pool powers, if any, feel free to go nuts. I have no idea what I'm doing so you can't mess up her character concept. Thanks ahead of time for any help!
Meknomancer Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 I haven't played one of these although i do have a few plant trolls and domi's and a couple poison toons. Bit tough to build. Can't remember best slotting for CC but as long as you chuck in an ff+rech you should end up with perma hasten and creepers, not so sure about indom will as i threw in vigor alpha and then tried to get some ranged def numbers+s/l res. I get the character concept but WoC however pretty it looks when your running about is a serious end hog and completely useless as a power especially when it demands not only that you be in melee but that you stand on an enemies toes for it to hit (the radius is teeny). So.....no travel power, i can't do it on my toons, i fell in love with CoH partially due to the awesome travel abilities and always take one. I may get around to trying infiltration alone one day but i can't imagine it comes close to cj's manouverability. Tossed this together, hopefully you'll get some ideas (might look expensive but hammi's don't cost what they used to and can be replaced with other bits easily enough): This Hero build was built using Mids Reborn 3.2.17https://github.com/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn PLANT POISON PSI: Level 50 Magic Controller Primary Power Set: Plant Control Secondary Power Set: Poison Power Pool: Concealment Power Pool: Fighting Power Pool: Speed Power Pool: Leadership Ancillary Pool: Psionic Mastery Hero Profile: ------------ Level 1: Strangler Apc-Dam%(A), Apc-Dmg/EndRdx(3), Apc-Acc/Rchg(3), Apc-Acc/Dmg/Rchg(5), Apc-Dmg(5) Level 1: Alkaloid Prv-Absorb%(A) Level 2: Roots SprWiloft-Rchg/Dmg%(A), SprWiloft-Acc/Conf/Hold/Immob/Sleep/Stun/Fear/EndRdx/Rchg(9), SprWiloft-Acc/Conf/Hold/Immob/Sleep/Stun/Fear(11), SprWiloft-Conf/Hold/Immob/Sleep/Stun/Fear/Rchg(11), SprWiloft-EndRdx/Rchg(13), SprWiloft-Acc/Conf/Hold/Immob/Sleep/Stun/Fear/EndRdx(13) Level 4: Envenom TchofLadG-%Dam(A), AchHee-ResDeb%(15), HO:Lyso(15) Level 6: Weaken CldSns-ToHitDeb(A), CldSns-Acc/ToHitDeb(17), CldSns-Acc/Rchg(17), CldSns-ToHitDeb/EndRdx/Rchg(19), CldSns-Acc/EndRdx/Rchg(19), CldSns-%Dam(21) Level 8: Seeds of Confusion CrcPrs-Conf%(A), CrcPrs-Conf/EndRdx(21), CrcPrs-Conf(23), CrcPrs-Conf/Rchg(23), CrcPrs-Acc/Conf/Rchg(25), CrcPrs-Acc/Rchg(25) Level 10: Infiltration LucoftheG-Def/Rchg+(A) Level 12: Spirit Tree Prv-Heal/Rchg(A), NmnCnv-Heal/Rchg(27), DctWnd-Heal/Rchg(27) Level 14: Stealth LucoftheG-Def/Rchg+(A), LucoftheG-Def/EndRdx(29), LucoftheG-Def/EndRdx/Rchg(29) Level 16: Boxing Empty(A) Level 18: Vines BslGaz-Acc/Hold(A), BslGaz-Acc/Rchg(31), BslGaz-EndRdx/Rchg/Hold(31), BslGaz-Acc/EndRdx/Rchg/Hold(31) Level 20: Tough GldArm-ResDam(A), GldArm-3defTpProc(33), GldArm-RechRes(33), GldArm-Res/Rech/End(33), GldArm-RechEnd(34), GldArm-End/Res(34) Level 22: Weave LucoftheG-Def/Rchg+(A), ShlWal-ResDam/Re TP(34), ShlWal-Def(36), ShlWal-Def/EndRdx(36) Level 24: Hasten RechRdx-I(A), RechRdx-I(36) Level 26: Carrion Creepers PstBls-Dmg/Rchg(A), PstBls-Dam%(37), Bmbdmt-+FireDmg(37), Bmbdmt-Dam/Rech(37), IceMisTrmt-+ColdDmg(39), FrcFdb-Rechg%(39) Level 28: Maneuvers LucoftheG-Def/Rchg+(A), Rct-ResDam%(39), Rct-Def(40), Rct-Def/EndRdx(40) Level 30: Tactics HO:Cyto(A) Level 32: Fly Trap ExpRnf-Acc/Rchg(A), ExpRnf-Acc/Dmg(40), ExpRnf-Dmg/EndRdx(42), ExpRnf-Acc/Dmg/Rchg(42), ExpRnf-EndRdx/Dmg/Rchg(42), ExpRnf-+Res(Pets)(43) Level 35: Poison Trap BslGaz-EndRdx/Rchg/Hold(A), BslGaz-Acc/Rchg(43), BslGaz-Rchg/Hold(43), BslGaz-Acc/EndRdx/Rchg/Hold(45) Level 38: Venomous Gas HO:Enzym(A), HO:Enzym(45), AchHee-ResDeb%(45) Level 41: Indomitable Will RechRdx-I(A), RechRdx-I(46) Level 44: Mind Over Body RctArm-ResDam/EndRdx(A), RctArm-ResDam(46), RctArm-ResDam/EndRdx/Rchg(46), StdPrt-ResDam/Def+(48) Level 47: World of Confusion MlsIll-Conf/Rng(A), MlsIll-Acc/EndRdx(47), MlsIll-EndRdx/Conf(47), MlsIll-Acc/Rchg(47), MlsIll-Acc/Conf/Rchg(48), MlsIll-Dam%(48) Level 49: Vengeance LucoftheG-Def/Rchg+(A) Level 1: Brawl Empty(A) Level 1: Containment Level 1: Sprint Empty(A) Level 2: Rest Empty(A) Level 1: Swift Empty(A) Level 1: Health Pnc-Heal/+End(A), Mrc-Rcvry+(7), NmnCnv-Regen/Rcvry+(7) Level 1: Hurdle Empty(A) Level 1: Stamina PrfShf-End%(A), PrfShf-EndMod(9) Level 50: Vigor Core Paragon ------------ | Copy & Paste this data into Mids Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1421;691;1382;HEX;| |78DA6593496FD35010C79F63A77B9A84245D499B04BAD0C5495984B801854A294D6| |B2988135042EBB49622A78A03A21F802F8004BDC095F580042A94231F000924B63B| |AB84BAD0163886A9FFF3D448B564FDFCFE33F366DEBC71E6C699A67C7EECA45002A| |3859CE34C8F16ED72A9582898256F263767CD087A02C6C4A9C9F331632A9D9D9A8C| |19D9742D89B15D4F19A41B859C5D96AB962A87D3D7F279DD285A4ED10EA6ED79B36| |4DA655D7E048D22C5A6EDEB96635DB50A5679D1E72A63D6DC7CD9B2E71ADC5576C1| |3467FDEEE784999B354BCEBCB5103EBB60CDE88663156D6B663A9373CA6669B16DA| |73A7A9F29423E154D8C788418D18427C54C829ACE1C026F8777838458555DF139ED| |C49B55BCCA1388758FC186FBCC0760D343E623F00EEDA872B0477D8334CDAF8921E| |2099235552C919357E10CDE2F648C6A22F095F90DDCF79DF9030CFF049729B05696| |579B4386F015B0E522F312D87699390DFA29B25E1EB83EA2B8E20B422397E369FC8| |583746461ECC8803E8AF449271F47EE0F3043A0424E7EB9BDBF428F78499620C7A9| |C1F73843D707E627E66750A5F8906C4C28894A62879947897DC494EA3AC78F601D1| |F815DA3E088CC14E10AE3E7603C30CE1C0313E4DCCACE4AEBA08091B9428676CC40| |C5DBBE0CF1E00AD3E30569CC76D8DB8C75EF4DB438483B77CA323AB98CDE2DA4ED5| |B63AE8321728EB2B3881EC378BC22A15B76A17B1DDBF66D80877E3337995BE0C036| |7897662BC157A026B8BF03DCEF818FE010F7FB1E39F7C84BED398EF443923CB56FA| |9D47ED9AA7E6ED130F31D1907E56907BB14F7468613CC3898DCE934A57BEA134297| |07D3FFA035FA36738BB90926FF32FF81616A554ACE564A0EA056FD03BB0317AD922| |A137BED86B6FB7B0BC595561B84D4A4D77A95E41171DC56CD38CE537301D9D7F6C6| |6D54498A58C29DD4DD0223AD043656FE036A5FE197| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
Meknomancer Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 Consider dropping psi for mace, you get poison ray and a tarantula that may fit your theme and more importantly you get s/l def numbers that will allow you to melee for venemous. With a ranged build you still need to keep positioning yourself to apply the debuff and not get smacked in the face although plant does make things silly easy gameplay wise.
