Dark/Dark Dominator- 20 minute TinMan Trial, Trio of dominators. BUILD INCLUDED (for general use)

Recommended Posts

Dark/Dark Dominator in a trio with another pair of doms.
Tin Man trial at max difficulty settings, NO inspirations, no temps, no P2W, no deaths.

20 mins is still fast for very small team of 3.
Sometimes I have to dust him off and remember how fun this dominator is.

Here is a build, good for a good chunk of game content. (Not the build I used to solo LR SF, nor solo the ITF at 54x8, no insps, no deaths)

This Villain build was built using Mids Reborn 3.0.4.7

@Voltak This is impressive! Still unpacking the videos.  Few questions for you

1.  how does this build differ from the other LRSF/ITF?

2.  I have a Plant/Psi that I haven't played in some time, curious about your thoughts on a highly-tuned version of that combo compared to either of your builds from your videos.

Thanks!

This build in that video is certainly good for the iTF as well , if you are not soloing it.
This is build is not as good for the LR SF compared to the other ones.
The build is not bad vs the LR SF, but the other builds are better, much tanker, especially the one with Psi Mastery, because some AVs and some bosses do have Psi dmg, and because of some defense debuffs in the LR SF, the higher your defenses the more buffer zone you have.

Plant/Psi plays very different than Dark.
When it comes to AVs vs Dom, Dark obliterates Plant's importance.

Plant/Psi is phenomenal vs trash mobs - bosses and lower.
But Dark is much better vs anything above that, it's not even close.

Curious what makes you say this.  Is the confuse that much better for dark?

Practice,

Plant/Psi is great for clearing trash mobs, well, most Plant/

Dark/  in practice has shown to be a true AV killer, it can make AVs kill other AVs.

ST confuse beats Seeds for EB and above grade enemies when it needs to be stacked.

Also, ST dmg, Dark will beat plant.

Also, defensive wise, Dark has huge to hit debuffs

It's a real force that has a higher celing of difficult stuff to do.

You can check out my many videos using both doms

Dark can do more difficult stuff than Plant can

Both dark and Plant's confuse powers  have Mag 3 and secondary Mag 1's  in them.  Difference in those is that Dark's mag secondary Mag 1 chance has slighter longer duration but its negligible. But the biggest difference between the  two is that before bonuses, recharge of Possess is only 8s vs 60 on plants, that means more chances to apply to then confuse readily an AV(stacking as Voltak's putting it).

Also Posses has a 90% base accuracy vs that of seed's 75%

So it's going to apply faster and more easily.

Alternatively Mind Control's Single target confuse and its recharge of the ST version is equal to that of possess.  There is no difference.

However the aoe  confuse it has (not cone btw) has a much longer recharge (240s), longer range, but same mag/duration of the plant iteration. But it has only a 60% base accuracy.

But Voltak I believe, per his response as well, is more generally speaking to Dark's overall power set's abilities vs just the confuse power comparison alone.  Plant, other than a smidgeon of -slow, has very little else in debuff offerings, while dark has a lot of -tohit which is arguably one of the more underrated debuffs in my opinion. The fear cone alone provides  15% -tohit along with that fear. Most of the other powers add 7.5% -tohit and then there's the haunts and umbrals too(dunno their %s though).  All can stack of course.  In challenging content, reducing the chance they hit you is pretty much a  defense(all) boost in my opinion.  Also while plant has immobilize and holds, Dark  as mentioned has the same and fears with their stackable -tohits.

And then there's the creative slotting that can be done due to dark's powers' multiple different IO sets that can be slotted for better combinations of bonuses to suit needs in Dark vs plant. 6  of 9 of Dark's power choices can choose between 6  different IO set categories.  Only 1 power from Plant can get 6 IO set category choices.

Dont get me wrong I like plant, but Dark just brings more to the table that is arguably more suited for more challenging content, unfortunately. And also that's not to say there are other control sets that could potentially do better than Dark either mind you either.
