Tankshock Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 How does this work? Does it periodically renew? Specifically thinking of Temporal Healing. Thanks.
Jaguaratron Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Every so often you get a "bank" of extra hit points which will get eaten first.
Tankshock Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 So it's like a proc that fires at given intervals?
merrypessimist Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 So it's like a proc that fires at given intervals? Pretty much, yeah. You can also see this behavior in action in the "martial training" blaster secondary. I forget the exact power name, but it's a +absorb toggle.
Novacat Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Every few seconds, FOR a few seconds, you get a small layer of temporary hit points. Say, 50 for 3 seconds every 3 seconds. So when it ticks, you get 50HP on top of your usual health bar - WHEREVER it may currently be %wise. If you're hit these temps are lost before the real layer. If you run out that's it until the next time it ticks. If you don't, however many you had left of it expire and a new 50 is gained when it next ticks. Repeat ad-nauseum - which may not be inappropriate given the sound it made. Heal/Absorb enhancements can of course turn that 50 into 100 and so on and so forth. It's a more powerful defense against a moderate number of hits (and to a much lesser degree against focused-fire too) than +%Regen sustains do, but does nothing for the health bar behind it and so does not aid in recovering from heavy damage or being ready for the next spawn as quickly as the regenerative versions.
