I seem to recall that Rikti pylons, unusually, do not have the powers that grant them AV or GM class debuff resistance, which might explain why diamagnetic seems to help you against pylons. I don't have access to a machine with Homecoming on it right now, but it should be trivial for anyone interested to test this with a power analyzer; I'd love to get a confirmation/denial myself.
