I have never been able to make a corruptor that I liked (it's okay if you like them I just couldn't do it) but I have finally forced myself to go through it and I have made it to 50+. This is the build I might use, I went to like 68% on ranged def. That might be over the cap? I don't know what it is. It is important to me to have a lot of recharge, so I can use the bigger buff/debuff powers often and help my team.

 

Thanks to you if you care to take a look at this and tell me what you think, I am mostly just wondering if it's too much ranged defense and I can slot something else in the power for maybe additional utility.

I didn't even mention that this is Archery/Traps! I am not super interested in removing the KB from the build (not on this build maybe I will have a second one where I try that).

68% is generally considered overkill. The 2 common softcaps are 45% for regular enemies, and 59% for incarnate content.

However, defense above that is not wasted, as it makes for a buffer against defense debuffs and enemy tohitbuffs.

For what it's worth, loading your build in Mids I'm getting 56.5% ranged rather than 68%.

You could definitely shoot to get it down to 45% so you get more slots to play with in other areas.

Turn off power build up, it only lasts 12.5 seconds then it won't recharge for another 60+ seconds. At that point your ranged defence is 47% with almost no melee/aoe defence. Traps with its FFG is one of the best for building towards 45% to all which is important if you plan to hop into mobs to plant the traps without getting squished-so you really want some melee defence and resists in the build.

Turn off adrenal booster 60 seconds duration, 220+ seconds recharge. Turn off aim. 10 second duration, 35 second recharge. Now turn off hasten which has a 25 second downtime and you'll see the recharge on adrenal and aim go up even more. At this point you have 0 to hit.

Theres very few accuracy bonuses in the build, i think i spotted only 3 which may cause problems. Find a way to get at least a kismet+acc in there somewhere if your not taking tactics. Acid mortar will drop enemy defense so almost everything will hit but there will be times when its not up or enemies are not in range of it.

I havent played traps in a while but i didnt notice any updates in which case time bomb is still useless, trip mine is a much better option.

Not taking fighting pool will seriously hurt as you won't hit defence numbers without it.

Recharge isnt much of an issue if you toss a ff+rech into explosive arrow, fire that off into mobs and it should pop every time it can.

 

Just using the powers you picked and shuffling sets you can get a little extra melee+aoe def and a teeny bit more res at the expense of some recharge and damage bonuses.

 

I just noticed the toon name and realised i teamed with you on Indom for a posi 2 when your net went out.

 

6th slot in trip mine should be in stunning shot.

Better mids build i hope

Okay this is all good info and thanks for that. I am realizing there is a lot I don't know about how to use MIDS. I thought that defense number seemed really high. I am disappointed to hear that time bomb is worthless! I was really curious to use this. I tend to play with just my wife a lot and thought this would be fun to try out. 

 

I'm not too concerned about having no melee defense. I only go in to drop poison trap after throwing seekers first so they are distracted. I NEVER use tough and weave on any character. There are other things I like more than those powers.

 

I am glad I got to finish that Posi TF! Good to hear from someone on indom, we don't always have so many people. 

 

Having like no +ACC is probably not great. I knew there were things I wasn't paying attention to when making this. 

 

(I'm still probably going to use time bomb...)
