Lerch2000 Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 Question the section "Animation Customization" in wiki: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Animation_Customization Is this referring to the animation options in the character creator? I'm hoping I'm wrong about this but that is what its looking like to me.
Captain Fabulous Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 Not sure why you think it's a bad thing.

I was hoping there were more options out there for all the skill sets to replace the animations with other animations in the game. It isn't really bad as not good, I just wanted to make an old-school mage with animations that supported the character other than say the base animation for Fireball. (was thinking it was something else) There was a game out there at one time that supported swapping animations as long as they were preprogrammed in the title, this is what I thought it was talking about. I made a “tank mage” using kinetic melee which is mostly based on Tai Chi. (And actually has slight range). There is no way (i know) to port the movements to a different powerset. But if you wanted a melee toon for your concept take a look.
Clave Dark 5 Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 People have been asking for this since day one, and for good reason, it'd be awesome! I'm guessing there must be a good reason we still haven't seen much of it, such as "it's a heck of a lot more work than we can commit to" or something. Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney: Matt (Posi) used to say that players would find the shortest path to the rewards even if it was a completely terrible play experience that would push them away from the game... ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ Clave's Sure-Fire Secrets to Enjoying City Of Heroes Ignore those farming chores, skip your market homework, play any power sets that you want, and ignore anyone who says otherwise. This game isn't hard work, it's easy! Go have fun! ╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Just off the top of my head, animation times are not standardized across different powersets. I don't think it would be terribly difficult hooking up more animation choices (tho likely time consuming), but it would cause havoc with all the different animation times. And trying to standardize those, now THAT would be a nightmare. 2
