NorthstarGaymer
Okay, so I am probably putting this in the wrong section, but there was nothing specific to binds, so I thought General was safe. So I'm just coming back to the game like a lot of folks are, and of course, I'm recreating my main. But back in the day a guy I was in a supergroup with on Virtue created for me an awesome bind, in which when I pressed 1 on the numpad it selected that person relative to their team position. I know how to write that bind. /bind numpad1 "team_select 1" But he also added that when I pressed it a second time, it would cast "Clear Mind" If someone could help me figure out how to write that I would really appreciate it. And if anyone wants to share any other binding tips for Empaths, I would be happy to take any advice.
Nuc
/bind numpad1 "team select 1$$powexecname clear mind" That should work if you double-tap the key quickly from what I remember. The only other way I can think of would be using multiple bind files but that seems unnecessarily complicated for what you want. 1 Nuclea - Rad/Rad Defender - Defiant - LoonyToons
Kinestron
The way I do it is to goto Options>Keymapping then change each Select Teammate X to the appropriate number pad key, instead of using the default that uses the Shift key. I then bind Numpad0 to Heal Other and Clear Mind to Numpad9. Healing Aura is in the number 1 position in Tray 1 so I use the 1 key from the top keyboard. Still two keypresses but works well enough for me. Edited January 19 by Kinestron
Shenanigunner
The guide has all the info you need on this, including sample binds. I've built any number of team-management bind sets on the keypad for buffing, healing, supporting team mates and pets by number. Easy-peasy, and IMHO the best scheme for managing such powers. It's MUCH easier to create and edit a keybind file than it is to use the menu access for keys. Even for a few simple binds per alt or type, it's a skill worth learning. And it's easy. Even for a few simple binds per alt or type, it's a skill worth learning. And it's easy. I'll second that. And it can save a lot of time when creating a new character. I have a keybind file for all characters. I just have to manually type the string to load it on a new character, then it has a keybind to customize my chat channels. It also has a bind to reload the bind file for when I make edits to it. Then, characters with special requirements have their own bindfiles and these also include a bind to reload the file after edits. Then I have one keybind that loads and entire set of binds for mothership raids. One of the keybinds in that set ERASES all the MSR binds so that I don't accidentally hit one when I don't need it. There's a lot of power in keybind files. The ambitious can go a step further and venture into popmenus. Even greater versatility there, but also a lot more complexity. Originally on Infinity. I have Ironblade on every shard. - My only AE arc: The Origin of Mark IV (ID 48002) Link to the story of Toggle Man, since I keep having to track down my original post.
