If you're using SOs or common IOs, 1-2 acc, 2-3 dmg, 2 rech. If you're using IO sets, Ranged AoE Damage sets.

They're also a good candidate for %dmg procs, in particular from Ranged AoE sets. The optimal slotting is 2x acc/dmg/rech plus 3-4 procs.

Yep. Targeted AoE procs are very very good in Creepers. You want all 3. Final slot is a toss up between a Dam IO or Trap of the Hunter proc. Avoid the KB and Slow procs. They don't trigger enough to be worth it.

So. this Proc setup in theory is better then a Full Ragnarok set?  with hasten recharge is at 1:35 with the Ragnarok.  I currently have no incarnate slots to effect anything.  the limited testing i did the procs shown only do 3's and 4's where the Ragnarok show 6's and 7's on same badies.  Do Proc damage show on screen? thought they did but now not sure lol

I've run multiple runs through my online parser and Targetted AoE procs in there are the way to go. They dramatically increase the overall damage.

Procs do show onscreen and in your Combat Log file (if you switch it on). Even better for "pets" like Carrion they're logged with the name of the parent pet which triggers them which makes it easier to pick out how effective they are.

How about the -Res proc in Annihilation?  Hard to test I suppose.

I went with this slotting for Carrion Creepers (on a Dominator)

 (A) Gravitational Anchor - Accuracy/Immobilize/Recharge: Level 50+5

 (*) Gravitational Anchor - Accuracy/Recharge: Level 50+5

(*) Bombardment - Chance of Damage (Fire)

(*) Positron's Blast - Chance of Damage (Energy)

(*) Ice Mistral’s Torment - Chance of Damage (Ice)

(*) Javelin Volley - Chance of Damage (Lethal)

I've got Ragnarok: Acc/Dmg/Rech, Bombardment: Acc/Dmg/Rech and the Bombardment, Positron's Blast and Javelin Volley procs.

I felt that the inherent damage wasn't worth enhancing as much as the Mag 4 immobilize, especially with the "front-loaded" %damage, YMMV.

Purples can of course be boosted and keep their set bonuses "all the way down". The Bombardment 2-piece global set bonus (5% range, IIRC) is one of those things that looks good on paper, but in practice I end up caring less about it unless:

  • I am playing a character that has multiple ranged attacks, and
  • I can get those ranged attacks reasonably close to each other in range through my typical sort of slotting choices.

If the character doesn't have enough ranged attacks, I ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and just pick a different bonus (if I pick one at all).

If the character has attacks with all sorts of different ranges (usually because the is a mix of cones and single-target attacks) I don't like a global increase in range so much because it increases the difference between the ranges for the different attacks. I'll often slot cones with a range boost to try to even out the range-to-targets.
