Sunsette Posted March 12 Posted March 12 One of my long-standing dissatisfactions with the Speed power pool is that it doesn't really lend itself to a speedy fighting style so much as a more explosive one; I don't really think of the Flash or Quicksilver as being fast to recover from exertion so much as their attacks literally moving faster. Whenever I try to make a speedster in this game, I don't really feel it without using Flurry, and: 1) For whatever reason, Flurry has stayed bad 2) Using Flurry conceptually limits you to only having Super Speed as a power, since otherwise your electrical punches and whatnot suddenly lose their zap-zing when they're going fast. Not sure how difficult it would be to add auras, particle effects, and other 'power graphics' to the basic flurry animation, but having these as alternates for a number of melee powers would be nice, imo. 1 Sundered Marches: The Website | The Official Soundtrack! | The Campaign Setting!
TheMoneyMaker Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Anyone else remember the old Chun Li lightning leg kick in Martial Arts before it got swapped out for an animation that didn't leave you whooshing repeatedly at nothing if you missed? As an alternate animation maybe use that with the same glowing speed effect from Hasten on the hands but on the users feet instead. 1

I mained MA/SR back in the day but I think I missed that or it got wiped from memory. I was actually thinking how much I wish we had Chun-Li Kicks as an option to recycle too. I've been told that they have to manually cut frames from the animations to increase animation speeds. then the process has to be performed in triplicate because each body size has its own separate animations. then they have to test to see if everything is stitched properly without clipping issues. I honestly don't know the exact details but its something like (1 day of work = 1 second of animation time) 1 Its easy to criticize a suggestion but can you suggest an alternative?
