Vet my Time/Rad build before I commit

Recommended Posts

So I just got my Time/Rad Defender to 50 and have been planning a respec. My current "build" is a mish-mash of slotting choices and sets that I had available or seemed like a good idea at the time, so I'm planning a respec into something actually planned. Before I commit to anything that's going to cost me resources, I'd like feedback on whether the build will actually be any good. I based it (very loosely) on a Bopper build, so it *SHOULD* be OK, but who knows how badly the changes I made have gutted it?

Also, I haven't been able to figure out how to turn off Power Boost in Mids, so I'm having issues figuring out what my real numbers are - or if it's naturally off already, how to turn it on. Any advice on that would be helpful too.

Anyway, here's the data chunk. Hope I'm doing this right.

Thank you!

Brawl and boxing. You don't need those slotted if all your using them for is recharge theres better ways. Chronoshift may look as if it will solve your massive endurance issues. Thats misleading. You'll have a small boost to your end but the recovery part fades fast and won't cover your attack chain with 0 endurance slotted in them-it will work if you plan on running ageless.

Drop the slots from brawl and boxing into temporal mending/Times Juncture/Farsight/Distortion Field, 6 preventetives, 4 dark watchers, 6 reactives, 5 unbreakables, the powers will be better slotted and you don't lose any recharge. Find a way to get more end red in your attacks even if it means dropping a proc or 2. Toss a kismet+to hit in hover.

  • Slowed Response requires accuracy.
  • You have no enhancements in Tactics. If you intend to run it, it requires end reduction at a minimum. You don't really need it since you already have Power Boosted Farsight.
  • I would drop Temporal Selection for Time Crawl. In addition to providing -regen and -recharge, it increases the strength of all your other debuffs.

You are going to have end issues if you want to actually run tactics and all these procbombed attacks. Chronoshift's recov bonus only lasts 30s (out of the power's 90s duration) and your net eps is only 1.53 without it. That means an endredux alpha eg vigor, or ageless destiny.

Power boost increases farsight's def bonus by about +12.3 def to all on fenders, so with a powerboosted farsight on you have 51.7 def to all, 56.7 ranged. This is a lot, and you can give some serious thought to skipping fighting if you like and taking some other def power in its place, like stealth or CJ; but fighting will let you cap SL res so it's not exactly bad either.

Temp selection is quite strong for the 31.25% +dmg buff (same strength as Fort) on top of its rech buff if you can keep it up diligently, but time crawl isn't bad either and is beneficial while soloing. I chalk this one up to playstyle differences.

Tactics can potentially still be useful even with farsight if you want to exploit putting a gaussian's BU proc in it (it rolls to proc for every friendly buffed by tactics), though you might find this unsporting to the enemies.

I would reconsider if you need to proc distortion field when you already have 3 procbombed attacks, 2 of which are relatively spammable.

Overall, sound suggestions have already been made and if the "Bopper build" OP based this off is the same one I am thinking of (time/dp) it is actually a very well built one. If you can decide how to fix the end issues this should be pretty good. Don't take my word for it though: you should give it a spin on the test server - you can level up and gear for free there.

I did some screwing around in MIDs and figured out what I was missing to see the actual totals for various stats, and it made clear, among other things, the glaring End issues the build would have. Mostly I'm solving them by following the advice already given. I'm considering dropping the Leadership pool entirely, as Power Boosted Farsight does the same thing only better and for far less Endurance, albeit only if I can catch the entire team in it.

Regardless, thanks everybody for the feedback.
