Ironically, a lot of the old "rescue" missions from the original release and earlier issues were like this. You just had to rescue the person, not escort them to the door. I figured this out during my "do every story arc" phase via Ouro. On 1/6/2025 at 3:00 AM, lemming said: And this thread needs to be updated after Mark & Recall was released. Which so far has worked with every hostage I've tried it on @Zombra and for others who don't know, if you mark the entrance, run to the hostage, clear the initial group and then recall to your marked spot, the hostage comes with you. I've no idea if that's WIA or just a helpful bug. It does require you go through the steps to get the Mark & Recall Accolade Power, which isn't exactly helpful for characters still going through their levels, etc. Here's a quick demo: Edited Monday at 10:09 PM by twozerofoxtrot added clip 2 1

This is good information; I never heard of it before this thread. That looks like another decent (but not perfect) workaround for some characters. Still, if I can get on my soapbox for a second, I continue to hate it that I can't control the speed of my characters except by using the Walk power which is obviously of very situational and limited use. I have no choice to not take the Swift power nowadays, and I consider many enhancement sets off limits since they boost speed even more. Seriously, when I am set shopping I skip right past anything with a movement boost, which I don't think is intended. My characters are bouncing off the walls as it is. I understand that more movement speed can be a blessing sometimes but most of the time it is a real curse. I reiterate that I would be very grateful for a "jog at normal unenhanced speed" power available to all characters, not just for escort missions but for everyday use. PoptartsNinja Posted Monday at 10:49 PM Posted Monday at 10:49 PM There is one good Escort AI, and that's Manticore from the final Blueside Praetorian story arc (I forget the name: the one where you used to rescue Statesman from Tyrant but now you rescue Positron from a Stormtrooper). We teleport targeted Manticore's follow target from the door to the last room (and vice versa) which would've broken the pathing AI for any other escort; but Manticore unerringly followed the spiral to return to the person he was following and wouldn't drop them and pick another person to follow unless they left the mission. That AI needs to be passed along to every escort, it's black magic. 1

Have patience, my friend. I know most people have very little of it these days. If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

At one point they fixed Penny Yin's arc too so her dad follows no matter what. So that's a good AI template to copy too.
