Invisible limbs

The interesting looking "The Flying Skull" costume, and a related discussion between @Ridiculous Girl and @Mr. Apocalypse (find its start here.) got me thinking:  might we have invisible limbs as a costume choice?   Let me expand on that with possibilities:

 

• The option for 1 to 4 limbs to be invisible.  This would allow for a ghostly or telekinetic look, for example, if one wields a weapon or has glowing/fiery fists.
• The option for a paraplegic super that has anti-grav technological or magical stubs at just below the hip joint.  Essentially making the character appear to float on these contraption.  This of course would require a bit more construct than just turning the limb invisible.
• The option to also turn either the head or torso/abdomen invisible as well, but only one or the other.  There'd need to be some sort of check added to make sure only one was selected. I believe something similar is already an option for the head?   This would allow for the ghostly floating head, (or if you are a Futurama fan, science/tech floating heads), or a ghostly torso for things like "The Flying Skull" Ridiculous Girl posted. 

 

There'd need to be at least one costume component still visible, possibly more, and possibly a check added so that "missing limbs would have some sort of active aura, like fiery fists visible at all times, otherwise it would become the defacto costume for PvP.

The Freakshow DJ is like that without legs, but when auras happen, you see his legs outlined.

from which i blatantly stole the initial idea from @Mr. Apocalypse... the invisible limbs effect is made by rendering the limbs in black spectrum and obscuring them in a black running cloud aura and a black banished pantheon desire body aura. it works, but it is messy.

 

the closest we can get to actual absent limbs is left/right cosmic corsair with hook/clean gloves, and left/right cosmic corsair pegleg 1/2, with which you end up with glossy nubs.

which is pretty funny, i had not seen that. now that i know, i'll have to look since i have the costume. 😁

which makes me think that costumes like this are possible in the near future, since this already exists in the freaklok costume and there are snake torso mobs with the correct animations.  phantom limbs should be possible, in theory, though i have no idea how complicated such a thing would be to make happen. i would accept a freaklok invisible legs solution as a work around. 🙂

 

but then again, i have been demanding pistol fingers for dual pistols for years! so, we"ll see... 😄

Right.  Admittedly I poorly phrased that as a question.  I was aware of it, but having never used it, I didn't remember what to call it while quickly typing up my OP.  "Headless"...of course.  Silly Techwright!
