There are some contacts, particularly for Nictus/Soldiers of Arachnos, who have new missions every five levels.

Also, a few Contacts besides that have a low-level story arc, and a higher-level story arc (Monty Castanella of the Midnighters springs to mind)

im not playing villian so that dont really help?

Okay. I thought you were asking for recommended story arcs.

My confusion.

I don't understand what you are saying.

Perhaps there is a problem with translation.

It might be better to reply with your own language - if English is not your primary language - and we can see if we can better communicate through that.

Okay. now you started responding to your own posts?

Okay, so if an NPC tells you to come back at level 40, then your character isn't a high enough level for that content/part of their arc. You need to level up to that level before getting another mission from that contact.

5 hours ago, ImperialZombie7 said:

nah it was in atlas park, so i assumed signature arcs where mid to high level content

Oh, you were trying to run "Who will die?" or whatever that thing is called.

Yeah, that is not a "regular" content.

If you want to run story content on your level ... and you are almost level 40 ...

I don't have a level 39, but I have a level 38.

Let's look at the mission contacts that the character can pick from at that level.

Opening the contact list, I see that I have active missions for Ginger Yates (Her level range is 35-39). If I go to one of the other contacts listed, they may simply give me another contact and then go inactive, so let's ignore them for the moment.

City of Heroes Screenshot 2024.08.08 - 00.23.49.07.jpg

The next thing I'm going to do is to click on "Find Contact" - this will list contact mission arcs that are appropriate for a level 38.

Scrolling through these the options are:

Archmage Hellewise, Atherton Cromwell, Fireball, Trilogy, Sir Lionel, Sir Lionel, Mistress Maria, Levantera, Ginger Yates, Montague Castanella

City of Heroes Screenshot 2024.08.08 - 00.34.02.99 1.jpg

From that lot, I would go with Levantera or Trilogy if you are new to the game.

Levantera is an introduction to Vanguard and the Rikti invasion. This sets your character up to fight against the Rikti invasion in the Rikti War Zone.

Trilogy is different and fun.

City of Heroes Screenshot 2024.08.08 - 00.34.02.99 2.jpg

You can teleport directly to a contact from the "find contact" list by click on the "teleport to contact" button.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

There is so much to do as you level and a lot of fun stuff designed for the level range it's meant for. I love Freaklympics and the Vahzilok Plague. I love the Laura Lockheart stuff. The Hollows arcs and Faultline arcs are both fun and explain some of the early lore. Everything can be done via Ouroboros if you missed it, but you are limited to the maximum level of the particular story and you lose powers that are above the level range. If you don't have IO's or attuned enhancement sets you also lose the benefit from them. As far as I'm aware (and someone will take great delight in telling me if I'm wrong) the IO's and SO's scale to the level of the mission too.

Where we differ to other games is that there isn't one storyline that goes all the way through the game, and there isn't a vast amount to do once you hit the level cap. There is level 50 content, and getting your incarnate abilities to maximum is always fun, but sooner rather than later all you have left is some trials and raids.

Makes sense, I just been doing the quests the game has led me to through the natural progression but I was curious how story arcs work and everyone keeps beig all start over with a new character, aand im just here like no, Its just like wow such a simple question has resulted in so many unhelpful opinions making it even more confusing than it was before i asked, i almost regret asking

You don't know what you are asking for or can't explain it clearly.

Your thread is named "recommended story arc"

You asked in the first post "does anyone have a recommendation for which arc to start first?"

But you don't like people's responses and say people don't understand.

You don't know what you are trying to ask about or can't explain what information you are looking for clearly.

People are trying to help you, and you are hostile in return.

I'm willing to give you another chance, but not in this thread.

You apparently don't want help from me ... and it seem like you don't want it from others either.

Even with turning off XP, I don't think there's a way to do EVERYTHING organically. This is why Ouroboros is such a great asset.

Ouroboros lets you redo things which offer a badge. Turning off XP doesn't truly let you do everything as there are missions with decision points in them, but I also highly don't recommend trying to do 'everything.' At least on blue side because as someone who solos a lot, there's a ton of wasteful missions blue side. A ton. More so when you factor in doing radio missions to simply level up and do bank missions to get temp powers instead. Ouroboros feels like the greatest hits version of doing missions. Doing that and the zone related arcs are what I would focus on.

Top 10 Most Fun 50s.

1. Without Mercy: Claws/ea Scrapper. 2. Outsmart: Fort 3. Sneakers: Stj/ea Stalker. 4. Emma Strange: Ill/dark Controller. 5. Project Next: Ice/stone Brute. 6. Waterpark: Water/temp Blaster. 6. Mighty Matt: Rad/bio Brute. 7. Without Hesitation: Claws/sr Scrapper. 8. Within Reach: Axe/stone Brute. 9. Without Pause: Claws/wp Brute.  10. Chasing Fireworks: Fire/time Controller.

My problem is I have clarified myself enough times, people are saying I’m missing out on stuff I’m not missing out on, I been doing the level based story content in the zones, and I’m not hostile just don’t care for the people trying to tell to completely restart my character for nothing

Literally the only thing I wanted to know was how I could do signature story arcs so I can go see the missions where the crazy stuff like statesman’s death happened and not one of you can stop to listen when I say what I want long enough to give me a proper answer and it’s ridiculous, I am not going to delete 7 months of character leveling and story experiences and badges. Either answer my actual question which I have asked like 7 times at this point or don’t even now you are just ragging on me instead of answering the question

The Story arcs you mention are available in the LFG tab, you just have to move to the right in the selections. Some will be locked to you depending on your level but they're all there, all the Who Will Die? and Pandora's Box arcs.

I think the confusion stems from the fact that these are Signature Story Arcs, as opposed to Story Arcs, the latter being literally every other story arc in the game.  Anyway, enjoy!

Omg thank you so much, everyone has been misunderstanding my question and thinking I leveled my character without doing the regular quests in the zones and so keep going oh no you missed everything restart and no matter what I said All I got was arguing, thank you for finally telling where I gotta go, and yea I figured it would depend on your level. Okay, it makes sense now.   3 of the contacts for the Pandora Signature Story Arcs are located in Atlas.  One of them requires  you to be at least 30 to start, and the other two do require a level 40.   So yes, if you had approached them and you weren't at that level, they will tell you to come  back later.

https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Pandora's_Box_(SSA)

Signature Story Arcs were introduced later in the game (not long before shutdown) and were for subscribers or purchased.  They behave a bit different than the in-game story arcs that people have been explaining to you.

In the future, if you want to do a SSA on a lower level character, the Who will Die series starts at level 10, although I usually wait until my 20s to start them as the EB at the end of the first arc can be a little tough at level.

Sigh.  It's nice to be recommended.  The ones @TerroirNoir2 is talking about are the first ten listed on my Signature (along with the Arc IDs to find them in the Architect Entertainment console) although personally I think I did better work in later ones!

@ImperialZombie7, sorry!  I misunderstood your initial question.  But I stand by my recommendation of AE stories having some great stories in there.  I recommend @Darmian's AEs actually! There's a massive (Like about 40+ missions) story they've done.

And you’re good fam, it seems everyone misunderstood it, nothing personal I just start to get annoyed when despite my post getting a lot of attention only to still have ask over and over and over all for like a week and a half of “you’re playing wrong, delete your character, start over” and not one answer to my repeated question lol

Sigh.  It's nice to be recommended.  The ones @TerroirNoir2 is talking about are the first ten listed on my Signature (along with the Arc IDs to find them in the Architect Entertainment console) although personally I think I did better work in later ones!

Anyway, enjoy the Signature Story Arcs.

Ohhhh are AE’s the player made architect missions?! I saw one of those consoles when I decided to go to pocket d just to se what it was and I was like: “uhhh looks like stuff I should figure out later “ lol. And yea every creative improves over time, but that only makes the earlier work more valuable, it’s what gets you to the better stuff 🙂
