Hedgefund
When the Sheer Willpower accolade power was released, I looked at the requirements for both red and blue side and my initial reaction was that redside was the preferred way to acquire, I tend to do those SFs when they're WST anyway. I decided to give a go at the blue version "Protector of Paragon City". A back of the napkin estimate for how long it would take for each task led me to believe I could perhaps get the blue one quicker than the red one, that is when both are starting at 0. So I set off to go through everything on the patch notes release: Now, what I didn't do was read the details about the story arc badges. I assumed (and here's a lesson in what happens when you assume) that those badges were for simply doing those arcs. They're not. They're awarded for specific choices and actions. So the PSA is to make sure you know what you need to do to get those specific badges, which is a good practice in general. As for me, I'll stick with my gut instinct that the redside version is the way to go.

Red side is definitely less thinking about it. And best done as a team activity. Blue side is easy, but a little tedious to do solo. Force of Justice means doing at least ten safeguards once you have the ability of just doing them via the Steel Canyon contact.
Ukase
For me, the decision is based on whether I'm going to pursue all badges, or just the accolade. If I'm chasing all the badges, well, gonna have to do all that stuff anyway, right? It then becomes a question of which path is most expedient for that character, given what they may have already done. But just the accolade...going red side SFs for sure.
