cryogen
The game has a lot of great content and Ouro makes it accessible, but it's not a very fun system for me. Mostly I see people running Ouro groups to farm badges. Using the Task Force system to handle flashbacks makes them difficult to run in pickup / casual groups. I'd like to see the system fleshed out a bit so that it's more immersive and team friendly. I'd like to walk up to an outleveled contact and have a quick chat about that thing we did that time.. then go do the thing and invite people to join me without having to commit to the entire arc. I'd also like a pony.
Wavicle
While I don't object to the basic idea of what you're asking for, it seems to me your suggestion would make things LESS immersive. Ourobos lets you experience previous moments in time. What justification would there be for me walking up to a contact and having that contact be able to send me back in time? Super Atom
The easiest solution is to drop the silly "can't invite" aspect of TF's/Oro and just make it so you can always invite new people. Not sure why this is even still a thing, absolute relic of its time.

It's so people can't just all join the very last mission of the arc and get all the reward merits, etc... 1

Seems like a pretty harsh preventive system for a game that kills hamidon like 20 times a day, not to mention multi-box farming lol Not really sure it would be /that/ much of an issue to let that happen. I don't know what kind of coding mess it would be but maybe upon completion of the final mission in the arc the system checks if you completed all the missions and only rewards merits if they have. Otherwise you'd get just get the mission completion bonus but no merits. It would certainly be nice to be allowed to invite ppl to in-progress flashbacks. 2 SCRAPPER: Sir Kit Breaker-Elec/Shield *DumDum Pounder-WM/Shield *Snoglobe-Claws/Ice *Ice Flow Joe-Axe/Ice *TANK: Gamma Goon-Rad/Rad *Bernjamin Tanklin-fire/claws *Skullgrin Von Killjoy-Invul/SS *Frozen Snowshoo-Ice/Ice Quarry Goon-Stone/SS *BRUTE: Megahertz Donut-EM/Shield *Ohm Ahgerd Stone/Elec *Shadow Goon-Dark/Dark *Devilaint Le'Z-Rad/Fire *STALKER: Double OHM 7-EM/EA *Sir Kit Interupt-Elec/Shield *TROLLER: Chilly Lilly-Ice/Rad *Chlorophyllis Vance-Plant/Storm *Mechamoo-Elec/Cold *Johnny Burnsalot-Fire/Kin *Countess Gone-Ill/Dark *Lady Gone-Dark/Dark *Calpernia Tomik-Ill/Rad *Porkchop Scallywag-Fire/Nat *Gone Daddy-Plant/Dark *Merrie Melody-Symp/Dark *Toot Sweet-Fire/Dark *Lord Gone-Grav/Dark *Misty Burnsalot-Fire/Storm *Maddie Burnsalot-Fire/Rad *DOM: Scorched Eartha-Earth/Fire *Gazebo Malarkey-Dark/Psi *Clawsin Bloom-Plant/Savage *Diatomaceous Earl-Plant/Thorn *Permafrostasha-Plant/Ice *Corn Cob Earth/Earth *MM: Stupid Robot-Bot/Elec *Dark Leader-Demons/Dark *Silas Greenback-Thugs/Time *FENDER: *Dr. Gone-Dark/Dark *BAG3L-FF/Sonic *BLASTER: PinPointress-Arch/TA *Shimmy Burnsalot-Fire/TA *Lil Beefy-Ice/Fire *H0TT-fire/fire *CORRUPTOR: Shady Burnsalot-Fire/Dark *Kinetic Koala-Ice/Kin *Atmospheric Hazel-Water/Storm *Hami Dum-Seismic/Nature *MiHami Heat-Fire/Nature *SOA *Big Gravy-Crabbermind *Sentinel: NP Seymour-Elec/Regen

Media uses these all the time to insert some new detail into an ongoing story's history. You've already done the task, but you're discussing it in such detail that you are reliving it. Maybe that's not a 'thing' in the real world, but it's fairly standard in modern media. Honestly, dumping the TF system would solve 99% of the issues. I just don't really like Ouro. It doesn't feel like CoH, it feels like a website. To start an arc, I have to get to Ouro, find it in the menu, start a TF and then go to the contact. Three of those steps are just extra requirements because I'm too powerful for the content and they are entirely 'game' things. Auto-exemplaring to the level of the mission is already built into the game for team play. Why can't we just do it automatically?

Why can't we just do it automatically? Because exemplaring requires another character of a lower level to exemplar to. The TF system gets around that problem, but with certain rules for how it works. According to the Live devs, Ouroboros had to use the TF system in order to make characters the correct level for the mission/arc. They tried other approaches, but they didn't work.
