I have to say, it looks funny to me haven't watched it yet though.

It was okay; definitely aimed at like the pre-teen crowd. I thought it would be better because it's Jack Black and I like him, but I can see why they sent this movie straight to streaming on Paramount Plus and not a theater run. The funniest part about this movie is reading reviews from Bible thumpers claiming it's corrupting children.

 

The story is a bit convoluted; it seems like pertinent parts to help you understand what's going on were left on the cutting room floor, or like things were added just to give you the feels. My biggest gripe is that the ending, while heart-warming and sweet, goes directly against a key part we're given earlier in the moment: History/events that have already happened cannot be changed. Not to mention how only the main character seems to be affected by the surprise in the ending.
