AV/Giant killers

Both my ill/cold and ill/Marine very easily stroll thru GMs and 54 AVs without insp/amps/temps/lore

 

Both do ~1k pylon dps though so chewing thru single targets is what they do best and having invincible taunters makes it just that much smoother.

 

I've had lots of success against lvl 54 AVs with arse/sav and earth/psi doms, the latter has taken a number of gms, but nothing with the ease of the ill trollers.

 

If you are ok with imps/temps/lore then pretty much anything can do it.

It used to be much much much easier to solo kill GM's years ago but they've changed GM's since then and its much harder to do so now.   Team wise its a non issue though of course.  Ill/Rad controllers were the go to then and very helpful to doing so now as well due to hits damage and debuffs.

 

AV's can be a bit different. There are various AVs that can be pushovers.  However it is very important to remember that not all AV's are the same and some AT builds while some AT builds can roflstomp some others will roflstomp you.  With the revamps that the HC team continues to also seem adamant about implementing, keep in mind that putting the effort into such things may end up being not as fruitful in the long run.

 

What is your goal specifically anyway with doing this to focus on gm/avs?  

 

Good insight. I usually make toons that can play in any situation and I team. So, damage isn't a huge issue and I am good at softcapping D and Res when practical. 

 

The game isn't getting a ton of new things to do so I am looking at other ways to enjoy the game. I decided to try one of these big game hunters.

 

A while ago, I tried the proc monster route. Interesting concept and fun too but it too has its warts.
