DB or Stone Melee?

Hey all!

   Help me decide on which powerset I should do for my next Bio tank. Dual Blades or Stone Melee?

And bonus points for any insight/reasoning on your selection!

Dual Blades may be thematically cool but it's one of the weakest overall melee sets in terms of either damage or utility. It is almost directly inferior to the similar Claws.

 

Stone Melee, on the other hand, is one of the strongest melee sets. It has incredibly effective controls - a self-stacking AE Disorient and a Mag 4 Hold - coupled with very strong single target damage.

I LOVE my DB/Energy Scrapper, but I think Stone would be a cool way to go with this. I believe Stone has a few options to slot the Entomb proc as well for an additional absorb!

Four attacks use knockdown (2x ST and 2x AOE) and KD = mitigation + FF procs. Bio loves recharge so those FF procs are very helpful. Seismic Smash (hold) can use the Entomb Absorb proc, so potentially 1 Absorb proc each in Primary and Secondary. Bio is endurance friendly which synergizes with Stone Melee's high endo consumption.

 

Seems like a great pairing. I might put together a build now.

Went with Stone Melee (mainly because I haven't played it before)...and I like it. A lot.

I feel like I need to mess with a build as well 😂 honestly, the combo seems to make a lot of sense on paper. AOE dmg might be middling, but probably not that bad. Maybe pick up an epic pool that can help with that.

 

I wonder how this combo would run on a Scrapper as well.
