CFIndustries Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Trying to build a Savage/Dark scrapper, anyone have a build they've enjoyed and would like to share?
Black_Assassin Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Find attached as an idea. Things I like: 45% melee defense 25% endurance discount outside of Blood Frenzy Dark Regen is up fairly often and will easily keep you fighting for a while Everything is slotted and will be good accuracy etc Things I dislike: Not able to get perma hasten with all the melee defense bonuses (have slotted a +rech proc in vicious slash to help some small way towards alleviating this) Awkward slotting to put the 50% scrapper proc in, not sure how to fix this only 35% slow resist which is hard to get more with the slotting choices I generally find it annoying the build is 5% short of the S/L resist cap but thats really unsolvable unless you lose defense (could use the LOTG 5 slots to get if you wanted) 10% short on psi resist, again pluggable with 2 +Psi resist uniques, but need 2 slots from somewhere. (Maybe Blood Thirst and the 6th slot in Vicious slash?) No absorb proc (could remove a recharge from Blood Thirst and sacrifice uptime to slot a preventative medicine absorb proc in health = more survival but less damage) Scrapper (Savage Melee - Dark Armor).mbd @Black Assassin - Torchbearer
tidge Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I'll put this out there: I have a Savage Melee/ Scrapper and a /Dark Armor Scrapper, but not that combination. While each can be made to work reasonably well, in combination (to my eyes) this looks like a challenge... for a Scrapper. My personal feels about my Savage Scrapper was that it would probably have been better at damage as a Brute. It plays quite frenetically, and the damage-over-time aspects are improved by Fury but not Criticals. Dark of course has its own issues, primarily the classic Endurance burn from toggles but more importantly the lack of inherent Knockback resistance. For the latter, I suggest that the /Dark Armor character minimally try to get 3 points of KB protection from the 3xGladiator's Armor set, 3 more from 3x Fury of the Gladiator, and then 2 of the 4-point protection pieces (e.g. Blessing of the Zephyr, Karma, Steadfast Protection). 12 would probably be ok, but you will need 20+ to deal with FREEM! on Dark, but there is a craftable +10 boost available in SG bases. Good luck!

I've got a great Brute with that combo... but the DoT's not getting Criticals make me wary of it on a Scrapper. Death is the best debuff.
CFIndustries Posted Friday at 07:11 PM Author Posted Friday at 07:11 PM (edited) I appreciate the calls to either dissuade me or to go with a Brute, but I started him as a scrapper for my own reasons, and am quite fine with "as close as I can get" rather than some min/max perfection. Which leaves me with trying @Black_Assassin's build, unless folks want to jump on an try to improve it. Otherwise I have a petty nice Claws/DA scrapper build I figured I could adapt. But I am really quite aweful at the whole "DIY" thing outside of a couple decent frankenbuilds, so assume it would be even more sub-par than something y'all might recommend. I suppose I could "flip" a DA/Savage brute build…which is a thought. I've done "flipped" build like this (brute-to-scrapper, defender-to-corruptor) but I assume they are generally sub-optimal (though I've made them work!). THANKS! 🙂 Edited Saturday at 12:56 AM by CFIndustries
Errants Posted Sunday at 01:31 AM Posted Sunday at 01:31 AM Brute isn't flipped from Scrapper, only Tank would be. Mids build is on another computer that I have to resurrect, but here's current (note multiple years old) build. Pre-power levels changes from Homecoming, and could pro'ly be optimized more... Cloak of Fear is taken for concept reasons, and because Savage has no stun to stack with Oppressive Gloom. Death is the best debuff.
