Something like this I wish there was a half xp START option.   Maybe wouldn't have to fiddle with turning off xp as much, or maybe not at all if you just wanted to do a "most" run instead of absolutely 100%.  Low priority of course and only if it was a very easy addition.

 

Been thinking of trying a more casual 'most' run with a necro MM, which seems like a good one for something like this.  Then Ouro anything I miss.

A good goal (like a 5k instead of a marathon) is doing every story arc with badges attached.  before you react, one way or the other, this is still A LOT.  All Gold has badges attached, (at least 1-20) avail thru Ouro.  Then there are just a huge amount of badge arcs.  It would be a respectable undertaking.  and, if a badger, ultimately something you would do anyways.

If memory serves me right, when I did this there was a ballooning of contacts (and missions) once I got to the 30-35 level range.

on red it is slightly smaller, on blue significantly smaller.  but the main 25-29 had 20-25 missions, the main 30-34 have 30...

Update!  Just finished all content through level 34.  

 

Blue took... forever...

 

1,107 Badges.  65,360 enemies defeated.  1,811 missions done

 

Reward Merits = 3.810

 

The next section is all 30-39 and 35-39 content which should finish out non 50 gold as well

 

I did miss a couple missions on a Blue contact that offered odd side missions at 30-32.  Blue is weird.  I am sad about that.  But I am sad about many things.  I trudge on up the mountain of ridiculousness!

 

i know i am at 99% completion rate of all missions offered through these ranges, not just arcs, but everything.

Update!  Just finished all content through level 39.  

 

1,174 Badges.  78,764 enemies defeated.  2.088 missions done

 

Reward Merits = 4.572

 

The next section is all 25-40 and 30-40 content mostly gold stuff.  there is one or more oddball missions only offered at 41-42, then on to 44 for the last big push.

Update!  Just finished all content through level 44!

 

1,201 Badges.  90,277 enemies defeated.  2.447 missions done

 

Reward Merits = 5.168

 

I will now, finally, level to 50.

 

This is the beginning, not the end.  A long beginning, but just a beginning.  I consider getting all this stuff done and starting 50 as the Base Camp for the final Ascent.  There are all the contacts that are not pure 50 but are still open to a 50 to do.  (20-50, 25-50, 30-50, etc...)  Then there are all the level 50 contacts.  That is over 100 contacts to knock out.  

 

Everyone will start seeing me (on Excelsior) a bit more doing high level group content.  Badges!  I still need over 400? badges!

Update!  Just went past 1400 badges.  Been a little lazy with the character since I hit 50.  Needed a break lol.  I have not been doing story arcs for now.  Just Incarnating and getting badges.

 

1402 Badges. 132.873 enemies defeated.  2,480 missions done. Reward Merits = 7,184  

 

I think for now I will just keep lazily collecting badges.  The story arcs are calling, but they need to yell louder!

How many times have you been defeated over the course of this endeavour? Were there any particular missions / TFs that caused multiple defeats or any trends you noticed if / when you were defeated?

most defeats were on teams  badge challenges. +4/x8 etc...   I do play aggressively, practically Tanking, yet the AT/Build is very self sufficient.  Running on a lower setting, once experienced, no one should be encountering a lot of defeats solo.  

 

With two heals, lots of to hit debuffs, fear and stun you can be pretty safe.  Then there is the Dark Rez for the times you miscalculate (from the epic pool)

Thanks for such a swift response. I've attempted this huge undertaking myself whilst also using Ironman / permadeath rules and found that there are certain missions which just trounce me - even as a generously slotted Brute. I appreciate you've not applied such a harsh penalty / ruleset to yourself but, based on your experience, do you have any advice for someone looking to do every contact without a single defeat?

give up all hope ye who enter here...

 

wracking my brain to think of instant defeats, must die situations.  none come to mind immediately.  the problem with Brutes are you are set to one tactic.  i stealth everything that can be stealthed.  then set up a lopsided battlefield with fear, stun, tar patch, etc.  Enemies who attack using stuff you are weak to is going to be tough.  Do you allow yourself P2W pets/buffs?  keep DFB/DiB buffs active to 30.  use a 50 (yours or a friends) to sidekick to for street hunts.  why have a random open world defeat?  basically CHEAT  also, i ran at -1.  same credit...
