I would like to open the discussion on the title topic: should the repel effect be removed from Mind Control's Telekinesis?

Foe me the answer is a resounding YES.

The trawl effect is perfect, but it should just be centered on the target. No repel. I don't want to guess where my AoE immob will end up. Is it here, there or anywhere? Your guess is as good as mine. And it has a long recharge - its not like Mind is immob-ing every mob: there is a good recharge.  The repel is just a relic from a previous power that needs to be removed.

Just a thought.

If the devs are intent on keeping the cottage rule (see This thread) then the repel is the only thing keeping TK fitting within that rule.

I’m not going to argue that TK would be overpowered without the repel, or that mind control is on the edge of being OP and that would push it over (I don’t believe either of these things) but I will say that the repel *is* predictable, it’s always at the same distance from the caster, and right now, you can use it to bunch up mobs that may be just out of range of TK’s pull in.

What this team needs is more Defenders

Oh, it's floating off the way that you pushed it, and it's aggroing more enemies as it goes.

Just like knockback, you have to figure out how to use tactics.

That being said, I know most players just want to "Hulk smash!" at level 50 in the end-game these days.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

No thank you. Back when it used to just be continuous repel, I'd be inclined to agree. In its current state, though, it has a specific distance it keeps enemies from you, which means you can control it and sweep up mobs it didn't catch, including back-stepping.

So, rather than just not picking it for yourself, you also want others not to be able to use it also?

Something just doesn’t seem right about that.
