Echo Night Posted June 19 Posted June 19 ...a location check box under the characters in the character select screen. Let's say you want to go to a specific zone (while at the character select screen), but you don't know if you have a character in the zone, and you don't want to click on your 330+ alts until you find one in the zone you want to go to, or log into a character and then port to said zone. Instead, you click the search query bar: type in "Talos," and a list of characters who are in Talos (if any) will populate, similar to what the check boxes that are already there do. 1

I usually want to play a specific character, so I’ll make that character go wherever they need to go. I’d file this suggestion under “low priority”. If it’s easy to implement? Sure, why not? There are other search things that have been brought up in the past I’d like to see as well, but if it’s a big pain? I don’t know if it’s worth it. 3 What this team needs is more Defenders
Rudra Posted June 19 Posted June 19 (edited) I have to agree with @Psyonico for the most part. (I differ in that I don't think any effort should be made to add the requested search box. However, because it is an option, I won't oppose it either.) Going to a desired zone is mind numbingly simple. Your chosen character is in Grandville, is a rogue or vigilante, and you want to go to Talos Island? Then go to Talos Island. It is as simple as using a base portal, a TUNNEL portal, Pocket D, or Ouroboros. (Edit: Or just use the Long Range Teleporter.) Edited June 19 by Rudra 1
Echo Night Posted June 19 Author Posted June 19 If you (the player) don't know if you have a character in Talos, you have to log in anyway to get to that zone. The search box eliminates the need to log in to check. The reason I'm making this suggestion is, while creating a character, I wanted to know which map had the oil spill near the carrier (for lore purposes). I couldn't remember, so I logged in thinking it was Talos, which didn't have the spill. I thought it was Sharkhead. Wrong again. Striga, wrong. I finally asked the help channel, and was told it was PO. After writing all this, I realized the function is quite niche and specific to my thoughts at the time. Badge hunting for lore on a newbie is what I was after, so I thought, "Wouldn't it be neat if..." But yeah, locating the badge is pretty simple, and it may only take a couple of minutes. Dang it. Thought I was onto something here 😞 2

My guess is that underneath the request is the desire to do a quick logout and log back in to get rewards for something like Adamastor, which is on a daily timer and tends to get defeated quickly. 1 1

That was also part of it, but that thought came after my badge hunting for lore desire. I remember thinking, "Omg, it could be for XYZ, too."

I've got almost a hundred 50s, and maybe a few are left in DA. They're scattered all over, getting day job badges. But you're right, I want the game to remember where they are parked. Hell, the game remembers a whole lot more than I can, so why not 1 more checkbox?
