WuTang Posted August 12 Posted August 12 (edited) One of my boys is a DnD junkie and he and I were talking about dragons the other day and concept was born, a poison dragon! So, after much reading and advice I landed on Defender for the AT. Now it's concept first, functionality second. For instance I read that the cones are not exactly optimal since poison likes the fray, but dragons breathe fire and this one also breathes poison. But what I was wondering is, what does Rain of Fire really bring to the party? I was thinking about dropping it and maybe pick up Char, or something else. Also, with the build as is, I didn't pickup Hasten. Inferno looked to be the only thing that really benefitted from it and the attack/debuff chain looks OK, I think. And lastly, I want Fold Space to work, is 2 +5 acc enough? I have it on another toon and it fails at +4 more than it works, very disappointing. Also, this is a teams only toon. Thanks! -WT P.S. I originally went Corruptor, cause...Corruptor, but I have only one Defender and the Poison debuffs look better. Defender (Poison - Fire Blast).mbd Edited August 12 by WuTang
MoonSheep Posted August 12 Posted August 12 hey wu, i have the same combo and have enjoyed it for many years the build looks mostly fine and it would be fun to play, but it massively under-utilises the -res benefits of poison by not tilting towards procs in summary: the huge -res of poison means powers which have long recharges of 15s or more should be loaded up for procs. e.g your build doesn't include the highest damaging power in the poison/fire/fire combo - char! it can be slotted nicely for 5 damage procs and 1 accuracy, it's a very heavy hitter - as is greater fire sword. the build is sub optimal without these slotted up nicely for procs have a look at the bits linked in this post for guidance on procs: and for poison in general: 1 If you're not dying you're not living
Dahkness Posted Saturday at 04:51 AM Posted Saturday at 04:51 AM (edited) You can do so much with poison! You have some good reading with the other post! Rain Of Fire. My favorite area control power since I don’t take the slow spit - Most turn and run when it’s dropped upon them. It helps me avoid a good chuck of melee dmg for different close ups - I drop it during battle when I’m rezing someone or if I’m trying to single a boss out with my aura debuff since I like to add in fire sword into my dmg. -Combat TP helps you get in and out of the rain when they come running back in at you. I like to add the knock back proc in rain. It isn’t the best but it sure is cool when it works. Only the first tick of dmg it will work. I try to fit in as many KB iOS as I can in my powers. 🤘🔥☔️ Edited Saturday at 05:01 AM by Dahkness Kill Most ITFs! Defender Tank! dahkness11 - Twitch

Rain of Fire works exceedingly well if you stack it with an AoE slow. Mob AI gets wonky if they're trying to run away and they can't move fast enough to get out of the effect. I combine RoF with Distortion Field on my Fire/Time but you can get the same result with RoF + Neurotoxic Breath. 1 Uuniverse
