Logansan Posted Saturday at 01:18 AM Posted Saturday at 01:18 AM (edited) My top suggestion for the game is not about balance, increasing power/damage for some sets/powers, making the game harder/easier etc, but updating the NoParticles command. In full leagues these days I can hardly see a thing, even with the NoParticles command active. The three things I would like to see are: Include all of the strong visual powers that are not already impacted by the command and add them, even if they are not technically “particle graphics”. Some of the new shield visual effects with the newer power sets are the most annoying. Create a new command, or add options to the existing one, that allow you to: Stop all visual displays, except those generated by NPCs. Turn off all other visual displays from other players, but keep your own. I’m just talking about visual graphic effects, not character animations or weapons etc, nothing that actually impacts the combat results. Some may say there would be a need to restrict these commands in PvP zones, but I doubt it as they would only impact what the individual players see and it’s their choice. I know there is already the option to turn down the graphics but in a lot of cases that makes these strong visual effects even worst. And, yes it may be difficult to implement but I think all players would appreciate the effort, or at least not be upset if the optional commands where in the game. The possible decrease in “lag” when needed would also be a nice side affect. I’m sure this or similar suggestions have been made numerous times in the past, but I couldn’t locate any on the forum (I didn’t spend much time looking). EDIT: A few minutes after posting I did find some posts on this subject, I must had misspelled NoParticles when searching before. However, all of the solutions or recommendations mentioned in those these threads have other undesirable impacts as well, and for most there where comments that they don't work in some cases. Ukase Posted Saturday at 02:01 PM Posted Saturday at 02:01 PM So...my take on this is simply for a league leader to limit the participants where lag is no longer an issue. Example: In the labyrinth, instead of having 6 teams, a choice was made to go with 4. Seemed to work out fine. I hear about this lag during MSRs..and well, I don't experience it. I just assume many are playing with cable for their ISP, which is down-throttling their speed. But obviously, I have no way of knowing this. I'm not an expert on internet speeds and such, so I've no idea why 20-30 players are having an issue with lag and I'm not. That said, these are my settings: No idea if that's helpful, but until this lag is resolved for many of you, perhaps just limiting zones to 50 would be a simpler thing to do. (and league leaders limiting their league size)
Glacier Peak Posted Saturday at 02:06 PM Posted Saturday at 02:06 PM I've found the best thing to do is zoom all the way in and then look down the whole time. Doubt that's helpful to many, but it's what works for me when the visual vomit won't stop. (and league leaders limiting their league size) The Abyss is limited to 50. Some nights Hami raids have unbearable lag and some nights there is zero lag. Qty in zone may play a part but it doesn't appear to be the determining factor. SPOON!
