CraterLabs Posted Thursday at 02:25 AM Posted Thursday at 02:25 AM I've been toying with Cross Punch on my Street Justice Tanker, and I like it, but it feels like the cone on it should be wider. Probably not too much wider, but as it is it almost feels like its arc isn't significantly improved over what it gives to Scrappers, which is kind of disappointing considering Gauntlet.

The bonus to arc/radius previously granted by Gauntlet was eliminated in i28p2. 1 Uuniverse

That's unfortunate. The Gauntlet power's description still reads as granting the bonus so I assumed it was still a thing. Even if we don't get that general bonus, however, I do think I'd like to see the arc widened for Tankers (or even in general.) The Sweep isn't always Crossing.
Captain Citadel Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Yeah, Cross Punch feels pretty bad. I feel like the only way to reliably hit more than two targets with this ability is to jump into a mosh pit of bad guys, then target the nearest bad guy and then switch targets to the one directly behind him, then activate the power. If they're close enough together, really jam-packed like a bunch of sardines, the game will register the second row of guys as being in range, and you might catch two more targets because they just happen to be standing directly between you and the guy you're targeting. I think this power and Fire Breath might be the narrowest "cone attacks" I've seen in the game. Technically AoEs, but they feel more like extremely short-range column attacks that sometimes hit more than one enemy. I'm used to cones working like "I'm gonna target this guy, and 2-4 other guys behind him are gonna get caught in the blast." Not "I'm gonna hit the guy behind this guy and maybe catch both with one hit." If I didn't need to take Boxing/Kick before taking Tough/Weave, I would not have any Fighting pool attack powers in my build. I know there's never going to be a world where people can just take Tough/Weave without prerequisite power choices, but it really does not feel good to have these powers in my attack chain when my character's secondary power is Super Strength.
