Can we take the same primary powers and Secondary powers for mastermind, but make all the attack options melee for the primary attacks and call it like warlord or something?😁

The problem you run into, which also affects the existing personal attacks, is that the MM damage scalar is 0.55. MMs have access to melee attacks in their Epic pools (Knockout Blow on a MM does 109 pts of damage). I don't think I've ever seen somebody take or use them.

I'm looking and I'm looking, but I only see one melee attack across all MM APPs and PPPs. And that is Thunder Strike in Electric Mastery and Mu Mastery. (Which does a base damage of 91.1475....) So... uhm... Knockout Blow on a MM from where please? (Edit: Though to be fair, I didn't realize that any MM APPs or PPPs had actual melee attacks versus PBAoE auras or drains.)

Cross Punch in the Fighting Pool is a decent melee cone (best when taken with both Kick and Boxing), and Air Superiority in the Flight Pool is a decent low level melee attack and soft control. Can one make a melee MM? Sure. Should one? Probably not.

KO Blow is in Leviathan Mastery, base dam = 108.8876 (seriously, who comes up with these numbers???)

It's the same scalar (3.56 * Melee_Damage) that the tank and brute Super Strength versions use, as well as the blaster and sentinel epic versions.

Yeah, I know how they get those numbers, it's just always been wild to me they're so fractional.

Given the pandora's box was recently reopened on mutually exclusive powers, maybe expanding the current mastermind sets to have either-or for each personal attack? This way they don't have to clone a whole archetype just for three powers each in seven sets to be different while everything else remains the same.

Stylistically there is a good argument that some of the more melee oriented MMs (I'm especially thinking of Beast MMs here) deserve a more melee focused personal attach chain. The downside of that is it might leave the player vulnerable to high powered ranged attackers, especially at lower levels. 

 

The only realistic way to fix this would be to offer "Melee MMs" and "Range MMs" - so the non-pet powers fit that category. Claws instead of Hawks for example. 

 

While that idea might be great on paper and enjoyable, I fear it would be a huge amount of work for a small volunteer dev team who are doing a remarkably good job with the resources they have. I just can't see it happening. 

 

The alternative; to get a choice of powers for all MMs would be unthinkable.
