KnightOwl - Pinnacle Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Alts I have: it's fewer than three-hundred. The late 20s or 30s tends to be a 'burnout' zone which will determine whether their journey to fifty continues. I'm not very efficient at leveling; it tended to go smoothest when I had a group of people with whom to regularly play - I'm back to a mostly solo approach lately. kanga Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Sticking with a character has 2 main reasons for me, firstly, it is a concept I feel I pulled off well and want to see it succeed and secondly, a particular build plays surprisingly well, like not necessarily the most powerful, but more fun or engaging than I thought.
MonteCarla Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I love this thread title! 😄 I know the feeling. I try to stick to 3 active characters but it's grown to 6 or more at times. Some stick, some don't, and it's usually down to 1) Concept - do I like being the character, using their speech patterns, and so on. 2) Build goals - am I chasing levels to achieve capped defence/resistance or perma-Dom or something exciting like that. I delete characters because unless I really, really love them and have sentimental attachments, it depresses me to see my characters go unplayed. Their costume goes to the save file. Their IOs go to the base storage. Their one-word noun/adjective name goes back to the name pool. And harmony is restored. 1

If I don't play them, why do I have them? I have a few place holders and even those aren't immune to being culled, usually replaced by a different AT power combo that fits better. And I have a set limit of 100 across my accounts & servers. Though there are a couple untracked chars that I use as mules to move stuff between servers.
