Least popular primary

What’s the least popular primary on sentinels? Looking to try something different for a new character.

Weapons sets tend to not be popular on other ATs. How about AR, seems generally one of the least loved.

I dont know if there is any other way than real Data Mining to show what is the least popular primary. Opinions will definitely vary. Since most people have multiple characters even with an AT, just because something is not seen being played isnt an accurate representation. 

 

My advice.. Play whatever you want. Make whatever you want and dont worrk about what is and isnt played..

Extremely out of date, but this showed AR, Archery and Sonic as the least popular at the time.

I can say what I dont like.. 

 

Archery.. I tried it.. it wasnt bad.. but I liked in on a blaster much better. mainly because of the tactical arrow Secondary

 

Sonic.. Dont play ANY sonic sets.. I play with headphones and the noise is annoying. 

 

AR.. Ive been looking at possibly making one.. but again.. Blasters getting the Rocket LRM is too good to pass up for me..

 

NRG.. I REALLY REALLY, wanted to like this.. I wanted an Nrg/Nrg Sentinel so badly.. but that slow as hell Focused Power Blast irritated the HELL out of me.. just slowed down the whole attack chain.. 

 

Ice.. Didnt like it as first.. but I have an infinity for Ice themed characters and powers.. I made an Ice/Invlun and it works ok. 

 

Psi.. I made one.. but PSI is heavily resisted in the end game by a lot of enemies..

I would be willing to bet it’s archery. It just sucks so bad on a sentinel. Energy probably not far behind but likely fits more concepts I imagine

Really thebonly thing that bothered me about the sonic is the noise, and the fact that cones are so limited on a Sentinel. But IF you plan around cones it can be very effective, just better on a Blaster with 10 targets...

Ice is the horriblest because Sentinels got shafted with Chilling Ray instead of Freeze Ray.
(I mean, it's still not utterly horrible to play because the rest of the set remains pretty decent.. but it is objectively the worst flavour of Ice Blast)

As for recommendations?
Procced-out Dark Blast can put out decent DPA; and its -ToHit can be particularly helpful since Sentinels often find it tricker to reach the softcap than other armored ATs.
Seismic Blast can require a bit of juggling; but it can also become very fun with a Meteor available for almost every spawn (just remember that KB>KD IO!) 😉
