+DEF IO Not Affecting Beasts Lioness Roar

I ran a test today on Beast MM Lioness Slotting.  The Lioness Roar +DEF buff is not affected by +DEF IO's.  It was +6 both with and without a IO slotted.    Pets were re-summoned before and after the each IO test.

 

Take for example the Bots/ Protector Bots.  Their force bubble is enhanced by +DEF IO's.

Bumping because I just noticed the same thing. I was going to boost that defense, but it looks like it doesn't do anything, even though it takes both Defense IOs and sets.
