Partner farmer fire/kin/flame corr

I figured I'd post this here too, as there are many players who just use their brutes to farm fire. With this and another brute partner you farm more influence faster than a 2 brute team and it becomes more and more efficient the more brutes you bring. So, here is my fire/kin/flame corruptor I use for that. 52% fire def, 75% fire res (hardcapped for corruptors), instasnipes, and 241% global recharge with the FF proc. Even without the FF proc you can pretty much have perma hasten with just 2 siphon speeds (super easy to maintain). You are also at the movement cap with just sprint+ninja run+1 siphon speed.

Thanks for posting this.  I've been working on a fire/kinetics controller to partner with my brute.  Do you think that would work instead?    Problem I tend to run into is my brute is always at the engagement cap, so when I bring in the controller, often times I"ll get savagely killed instantly by whatever isn't attacking the brute. lol.  Not sure if a corruptor would be anymore sturdy?  Any thoughts?

also, any tips on how to make this work without the purple enhancements?  Those can be hard and expensive to come by

So, the difference between a controller and a corruptor in terms of tankiness is really nothing at all. We have the same resist caps and HP pool. Now where a corruptor shines over a controller is in dmg, for starters the corruptors base dmg is .75 (1.00 is considered a blaster....but its not quite that simple) where as the controller's is .65. Now, this doesnt seem like much of a difference, but then you add in damage buffs and it becomes very apparent. So, lets say a blaster power does 100 dmg, a corruptor would do 75 with that same power, and a controller would do 65 (lets ignore the fact that they don't share powers for the time being). Then, you take yourself to the damage cap (easily done as a kin), now the corruptor is doing 375 with that power and the controller is only doing 260. This is because the controller has a dmg cap of 400% (or +300% dmg buff, because 100% is considered no enhancement), whereas the corruptor has a dmg cap of 500% (+400% dmg buff). And this compounds with every single power. On top of that the corruptor gets the blaster versions or powers, and fire blast is very very dmging with all of the dots and blaze (ST) and inferno (AOE) are the best in show in terms of pve raw dmg. So, in a fire farm I would always recommend a corruptor. However, the corruptor gets little to no controls whatsoever (except for repel which I have taken and is hilarious to use with the new knockback to knockdown IO), and so it will never be as safe as a controller.

As to your question about being able to do this without the purples...not really? You might be able to do it with a lot of aegis and reactive defenses, but I'm not sure. The majority or the fire defense and fire resists in my build comes from those winter sets, so I'm not really sure if you could do it. And because you are not as tanky as a brute, you will need to heal occasionally (my rad/fire brute can be surrounded by fire bosses at the aggro cap and not die, without healing).

This ignores one being a controller and being able to mez mobs. Also, corrs get scourge so they definitely are going to do more damage. They just have less in terms of how to mitigate incoming damage.

Top 10 Most Fun 50s.

1. Without Mercy: Claws/ea Scrapper. 2. Outsmart: Fort 3. Sneakers: Stj/ea Stalker. 4. Waterpark: Water/temp Blaster. 5. Project Next: Ice/stone Brute. 6. Mighty Matt: Rad/bio Brute. 7. Without Pause: Claws/wp Brute. 8. Emma Strange: Ill/dark. 9. Nothing But Flowers: Plant/storm Controller. 10. Obsidian Smoke: Fire/dark Corr.

I did allude to this when I talked about controls and a corruptor never being as safe as a controller, but you are right a controller gets to mez mobs and circumvent a lot of dmg. I have recently been playing around with repel and it offers some significant mitigation if you can keep up with the end drain (also, make sure you put in knockback to knockdown).  And yes, scourge helps with dmg, somewhere in the 17-28% more overall dmg vicinity depending on the situation. It also results in you overkilling a lot of mobs.

Thanks for the reply!  Does the controller's power of containment help shorten the gap between them and corruptors at all?  I just really wanted fire imps lol.

So, yes, containment helps, but then the corruptors have scourge. So, its a wash maybe? Or containment comes out ahead of scourge, but not enough to get ahead of all the other factors I mentioned. In terms of pets I think that may do something to close the gap a little depending on how dmg buffs work on pets, but I'm not sure to be honest. I've never played a kin with pets before and I am unsure of the math.
