My First Build Please Review

Thanks to Hyperstrike I was inspired to create my first build. From what I can gather this is not a super expensive build and with my limited build knowledge seems pretty legit. I would appreciate any feedback and guidance. BTW this would be intended for end game content and AE Farming.

Recommend using the Short Forum Export instead of just DataLinks or Data Chunks.
This way someone can casually peruse a build or download it straight away.

Suggestion, do an export like this:

  • Import/Export
  • Short Forum Import
  • Set formatting to Universal Codes
  • Check Export Data Chunk if Creating a DataLink isn't possible
  • Also check Export Data Chunk as well as a DataLink
  • Make sure Don't Export Invention Levels is checked.
  • Click EXPORT NOW

On your build (once I actually figured out it was a data link and not a data chunk).

I'm just philosophically opposed to using Obliteration due to it's *BLEEP!* End Redux.
Shield Charge and Foot Stomp aren't bad if used ONCE each.  But they're coming up fast enough that they should be getting used REGULARLY when beating down a large group.
And that lack of End Redux is gonna HURT.

Foot Stomp is up more often than Knockout Blow is.  And costs half-again the Endurance.
Shield Charge is more in line with KOB with a 4x long recharge.

Thanks for the lesson on how to export that. I was trying to build in as much resistance as possible because of what you said about defense sets. Good call on Obliteration, I choose that for the cost and melee defense bonus. 2 questions as it pertains to Obliteration - 1) Will Energy Mastery help offset that? 2) What would be a similar price point alternative?

 

I am also looking for a recommendation on my remaining 2 slots if you or anyone has any.

The Rage Crash "issue" is a mountain made of a molehill (made by a very runty mole).
The game makes multiple mitigation schemes possible.
Also, 10 seconds is an incredibly short duration and NOWHERE in the game are you REQUIRED to run soft-cap 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Look at his build.
He's soft-capped to all three positionals.
And this is BEFORE Phalanx Fighting.
Get three (THREE!) allies (not teammates, ALLIES) in range and he's essentially INCARNATE SOFT-CAPPED to all positionals.

Please stop trying to talk someone out of a build they're having fun with because you have "philosophical" problems with a single power.

Worst case scenario you eat a purple and hang out for 10 seconds. 

 

SS/SD has too much synergy to skip over because of one ability. On top of that it is insanely fun to play. I loved my Bots/Dark until I rolled my SS/SD now she is my main and it was an easy decision.  

 

In the end Hyper is right its a molehill thats been made into a mountain. 120s of being a rage monster smash machine > 10s of a puny -def debuff

HEALTH!

Basic "ideal endurance" slotting for health is the Panacea Proc, the Numina Unique and the Miracle Unique.

+Absorb is NICE..

But it's not very useful when you run out of Endurance.

Toss the Regenerative Tissue +Regen in Physical Perfection

I will say this.

Comparatively, your build is relatively inexpensive.

Also, you're at 6x for instances of the +Rech LOTG.

Deflection
Battle Agility
Phalanx Fighting
Weave
Combat Jumping
Maneuvers

I'd replace the LOTG set in Maneuvers.
Recommend: RED FORTUNE (Def, Def/End, Def/End/Rech.
Will eake you out just a scotch more F/C Resist.


Not sure if the Kismet will work for you in Grant Cover.


Honestly?  A single Gift of The Ancients +Run Speed is something of a waste.
With Sprint and Swift turned on, you get +135% Run Speed...UNSLOTTED.
Slotted with Generic Run IOs?  +171%

+7.5% is a JOKE.


Also, you forgot to turn off the FF Proc in Kick (click on the green bubble).
It adds 100% +Rech that is NOT going to be there much, if at all.


Rage: If you're just dropping Recharge-only IOs in, don't bother wasting money on the Recharge-only IO from a ToHit set.
Just dump in Generic IOs in.

Stamina: Forget the set bonuses for Stamina.

Efficient slotting for Stamina, Superior Conditioning, and any other set powers that function as always-on Recovery Boosters is Perf Shifter +End and EndMod.
Maximal would simply add a generic EndMod on.
Going with L20 sets, which don't have much in the way of really decent bonuses, just shoots you in the foot.

Positioning of Steadfast Res/Def and Gladiator's Armor +3% Def is VERY not-optimal.

Basically, in the *HEEHAW!* end of the build, you'll lose the effect EVERY TIME YOU EXEMP.
Leave the Psi Resist in the default slot.

Yes.  You can have the same bonus up to 5 times.

Now, LOTG is ALSO part of an exception as well.

LOTG's 7.5% bonus is it's own thing.
You can ALSO get 5x 7.5% from set bonuses as well (Panacea, Mocking Beratement, etc).
